POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A MALIK ACID ZINE.

This summer we teamed up with one of our favourite soda brands @wearesomethingandnothing to create 10 recipes, some soft and some with alcohol. They are for you to make at home, and also a guide for hospitality spaces looking to build out their N/A offering.

Seeing it in print, it feels so personal, like a collection of short stories and memories with drink recipes attached.

We love it.

Sunday Sip & Spin: offering up a tune and a taste as we end the week; this pick: Jalen Ngonda - “Doctrine of Love” (2026). Today’s #SundaySipAndSpin is one of my favorite albums of the year. I’m usually not disappointed with any and all releases from Daptone Records and this is no exception.
The first thing that strikes the listener is Ngonda’s voice, a high tenor that can reach a falsetto register in the most silky smooth fashion. Most often low ranges are associated with R&B, so this elevated almost effeminate vocal quality is unique and nuanced.

What makes @jalen_ngonda so appealing is that he doesn’t merely imitate classic soul singers. His voice has the emotional vulnerability of the greats without sounding like a karaoke version of them. One could easily imagine Smokey Robinson or Marvin Gaye creating some of these songs; Jalen sits amongst such lofty company.

The production is equally impressive. Lush strings, punchy horns, warm bass lines, and gospel backing vocals give the record an organic sound that feels refreshingly new, while allowing the songs to remain compact and focused.

The opening track ‘Anyone in Love,’ makes it clear from the get-go that the vibes are nostalgic and soulful and the theme is clearly of Love in all its forms — longing, devotion, insecurity, and heartbreak.

But rather than simply recreating the past, Ngonda brings an infectious energy to a style that never really goes out of fashion.

Jalen Ngonda isn’t trying to reinvent the genre, he’s keeping its spirit alive through excellent songwriting, beautiful arrangements, and a voice that deserves to be heard.

Putting the finishing touches on our fall cocktails✨

Nuts To You
A whiskey sour with a Middle Eastern-inspired twist. Tart and rich, with @forthave_spirits Red and a creamy pistachio foam on top to mellow out the bold flavors.

Diablo’s Dance
A little bit margarita, a little bit El Diablo. Ginger- and turmeric-infused tequila meets @currentcassis black currant, citrus and cinnamon for a warm, yet refreshing sip.

Mrs Plum
A warm, damson plum laced G&T married with oloroso sherry and rye. Long, refreshing, but replete with baking spice and warming notes.

Mezzoforte
A vodka sour that lands somewhere between fruity, herbal, and nutty. Bright lemon and pomegranate meet rich walnut, basil, and a subtle kick of red pepper.

Sing Song
Our fall/winter Manhattan featuring Brevis Bittersweet Vermouth from @klockeestate. A cozy, bittersweet sipper with notes of baking spice, cola, and apple.
