Welcome to another weekly REPORT: a roundup of my week and things I’ve loved, saved and recommended ⤵️

📖 R — Reading: Doing great work and making its impact understood are separate skills. A @businessinsider article on “loud working” and this topic caught my attention. At @worklunch we unpack various visibility habits that work for you: a thoughtful update, a shared win, a clear explanation of what moved forward. One of my biggest learnings from 15+ years inside big brands… Small habits add up.

🍜 E — Eating: When I’m low on energy, I crave a warm bowl of soup. This week: wonton or the chicken noodle from @linanddaughtersnyc for lunch!! Familiar, comforting, and exactly what I need, alongside permission to rest.

🎧 P — Playing: Building alongside my corporate career has me thinking about the business behind creative work. @aspirewithemmagrede conversation with @luxurylaw especially treating your core super strengths like a business, left me thinking about how we value ourselves.

✨ O — Obsessing: this is a little evening ritual I look forward to. @elmbiosciences night cream from Martha Stewart’s skincare line. I’m selective because my skin is super dry and eczema prone especially during high stress moments. This has become my holy grail nighttime step.

💻 R — Recommending: I bring my work everywhere, so what’s in my bag matters. My @microsoft Surface Pro 12: super light, powerful, and easy to bring between meetings or on a trip. A holiday gift idea for yourself or someone special!

💻 T — Thankful: honestly! Thankful to my 2023 self who decided to take a shot on social media. Talking social strategy with a friend made me reflect on 3 years of sharing career advice. It was awkward, vulnerable but frankly changed my career in ways I couldn’t imagine. Something I learned through experience can help another woman navigate their own goals. That means the most to me. Thank YOU for being part of it!!

Jeanelle Teves is an international corporate executive, keynote speaker, advisor, creator, founder @worklunch and author. And she is also a ‘First’ and a close friend.

Our next @forthefirsts meetup will have her sharing her earliest context answering phones for her mother’s small business, to the challenges that come with building online visibility as a senior executive.

Our next meetup is on October 21st. Comment “first” to save your seat (this one’s filling up fast!)

My @culturecon experience was very different than most.

I didn’t see the Mayor. No celebrities made it to the Small Business Marketplace, and I ate “lunch” at 3 PM, ducking behind the counter while my assistant took orders.

I spent last weekend behind the booth of our first-ever “activation”. No budget for a full build-out, so I took the flag from my office and used it as a prop alongside some foam board and merch that constantly blew away with the industrial AC unit that was blowing straight on us.

And we sold out. Twice. So much so that Shopify disabled payments on my phone towards the end of Sunday.

We get so lost in workflows, agentic automation and “flywheels” when sometimes the single best thing you could be doing right now is standing on your feet for 14 hours a day for two days straight, sharing your story with people.

To everyone who stopped by our booth, bought a pack of First Round, or just wanted to get a free Polaroid portrait (I get it) thank you. I hope to see you at our next meetup.

This was the “first” time FTF was at CultureCon. But it won’t be our last.
