The Brown Gold: The Untold Story of Cocoa Farmers in South-West Nigeria 🍫🌍

Some stories are too important to stay untold.
Cocoa built legacies, funded dreams, and shaped communities across generations, yet the people behind it were forgotten.

That’s why we’re telling this story.
Through The Brown Gold, we’re tracing cocoa’s journey from farm to fame, through the eyes of the farmers, the youth, and the communities who kept it alive.

This is more than a documentary.
It’s a movement to preserve history, celebrate resilience, and remind the world that Africa’s greatness begins in its soil and in its people.

🎥 We’re calling volunteers: writers, videographers, editors, designers, storytellers; who believe in the power of stories to create change.

Be part of this journey.
Because the world remembers what we record.

Everyone’s talking about “getting into farming.” But farming alone isn’t the future.

Structured agribusiness is.

Farming is just one part of a much larger value chain. Without systems, market access, financial models, and a skilled team, you’re not running a business. You’re running a high-risk hustle with unpredictable returns.

If Africa wants to lead in food security and rural transformation, we must shift from passion-driven production to strategy-backed agribusiness.

Let’s stop encouraging people to “just start farming.” Let me help you build viable, scalable enterprises.

My journey in the world of agriculture isn’t about building a career or getting wealthy. I understand that it is first a calling and a matter of destiny. As I frequently say, being African is a call to responsibility, a call to something greater than my individual dreams and desires. God has placed in me the dream and hunger of raising a generation of Africans who truly believe in their autonomy and ability. I believe that as Africans, we can build a sector that is self-reliant and one that can meet our very own needs. “Africa will feed Africa” isn’t just a mantra or a slogan; it encapsulates what shall be my life’s work and journey. That a continent known for hunger shall rise to be one feeding the world, so that babies will not go to bed hungry because countries are too poor to provide what is a basic right under God. It is out of this dedication that I have sought knowledge and partners who share my dream and passion for an Africa that produces enough for its people. The two men in this picture have worked on the African continent for decades; between them, they have over 70 years of experience in the dairy and beef cattle sector. We will be partnering alongside others to bring their wealth of experience working around Europe, Asia, and Africa to help build a sustainable and scalable dairy and beef sector in my home country of Nigeria and across the African continent. We will be working with governments at all levels, as well as interested private sector individuals who see the market gap we are looking to fill and the potential that exists across the value chain. The lives that will be impacted will be innumerable, and I can’t wait for what the future holds. I am your wealthy uncle, and I shall continue to deliver God’s wealth unto the nations.

Ignore my heavy breathing 😂—the cold got me! But here’s something even more urgent: Africa’s food autonomy.

We must take control of our food systems. Every African nation needs to see this as a national security priority. The seeds we plant should come from us, not from Europe or America. We cannot keep funneling billions abroad while neglecting our own agricultural backbone.

Our research institutions must be strengthened to serve our farmers and compete globally. It’s time for Africa to feed Africa. The future of our continent depends on it. 🌍🌱

With this experience, we are bringing Boer and Kalahari goats , two of the most sought after breeds into Nigeria, alongside valuable, practical knowledge that will transform the goat farming industry. Our mission is clear: to revolutionize goat farming in Nigeria by improving genetics, farming practices, and profitability for farmers across the country. #sustainableagriculture #goatfarm #livestockfarming #animalhealth #agribusiness
