What do you MEAN the father of @fortsalem theater’s scenic designer painted an oil painting of our performance from the audience?! 😭

The power of community was out in full force last weekend for New Works/New Voices. What an incredibly special way to capture the magic of the evening and the artists who shared their work with us.

So honored to have led this program and to have witnessed this community come together around new voices, new work, and each other. 💜

Feeling very grateful.

The Laramie Project - Fort Salem Theater

It was a true honor to be a part of this show. It was unlike anything I’d ever done, and I learned a lot about acting, theatre, society, and myself because of it. Thank you to everyone involved for making this a truly beautiful show!

I forgot to mention that all 67 of these “characters” are real people! Not made up. This show is based on the very real m*rd*r of a young gay man, Matthew Shepard, and the reactions of those that lived in Laramie, Wyoming where and when it happened. Playing someone who may still be alive today, and not making them into a caricature, or over doing it, and also paying homage to the real person, while giving a good show, and switching between all the other characters, is wild. And rewarding. And we can’t wait for you to come see it. #fortsalemtheater #thelaramieproject #518theater
