Due to the devastating situation in Ukraine many of us from OIF had to leave the country or the city hopefully for a short time…
And now more than ever you appreciate the rare opportunities to be together as a church. We sure missed each other! Today we were blessed to get together to celebrate Leo and enjoy the fellowship with each other even so many other members of OIF were missing as they are busy serving our Lord and the people in need in other countries or cities of Ukraine. May this be a beginning of a joyful and fruitful season for His Kingdom and for Ukraine!

How grateful we are for all that God has done in the first year of our church. This past Sunday we gave thanks to God and to each other, we shared a meal, worshiped together and looked at what the Bible tells us about the importance of fellowship. May we continue to thank God for all he has done and look forward to the many things that he will continue to do in our lives and in the life of our church.

God accepts worship 🙏 in all languages, here is a wonderful song 🎶 in Yoruba language.

Talo dabi Re e, Jesu
Talo dabi Re o, Alagbara
Talo dabi Re e, Jesu
Talo dabi Re o, Alagbara,

Oba to gbe ogo Kari ogo o
L’atinu ogo
Lo sinu ogo
Oba ti ki i sun
Oba to ki i re

Talo dabi Re o, Alagbara
----
Who is like unto You Jesus
Who is like Unto you O Mighty One
Who is like unto You Jesus
Who is like Unto you O Mighty One

The King Covered in Layers of Glory
From one Degree of Glory to another
The King who doesn’t sleep
The Lord who never gets tired

Who is there like you, Almighty One!

As we approach our Bible reading we must strive to keep the Biblical motivations for reading Scripture central. Below are a few of the main motivations for Bible reading as I see them. This is not an exhaustive list, I’m sure you could add to it.
Reasons to read the Bible:
To know Jesus. (2 Tim 3:15)
To deepen our faith. (Rom 10:17)
To keep us from sin. (Psalm 119:11)
To give us direction in life. (Psalm 119:105)
To bring joy and great reward. (Psa 19:8-11)
If you can keep some of these vital reasons for studying God’s Word in mind every time you open your Bible it may help you avoid the temptation of turning your daily reading into a race to check the task off your list. Instead, as you read, keep these purposes in the back of your mind.
Ask yourself: “How is this helping me know Jesus better? How is this deepening my faith? How is this convicting me of sin? How is this giving me direction in life? How is this bringing me joy?”
