April showers bring... a POLAR PLUNGE!

Forwood Elementary recently hosted their annual plunge for Special Olympics Delaware, with an extra splash of excitement thanks to longtime partners Talleyville Fire Company. Students got an up-close look at their trucks before cooling off in the most unforgettable way.

Adding to the excitement, Master Sgt. Conine from the Wilmington Police Department stopped by with his therapy dog Barry, bringing smiles all around. Now that's how you make a splash for a great cause! #Proud2bBSD #StrongSchoolsStrongCommunity

A standing ovation for our young singers!

32 BSD students from Carrcroft, Claymont, and Forwood Elementary Schools recently represented our district at the Delaware ACDA Children's Honor Choir, joining peers from across the state for an unforgettable musical experience.

After an intensive weekend of rehearsals, students delivered an outstanding performance for family and friends while working under the direction of renowned guest Conducter Christy Elsner, director of the Allegro Choirs of Kansas City.

We're so proud of our elementary singers for dedicating their weekend to learning, growing, and creating beautiful music together! #Proud2bBSD

Welcome home, Dr. DeShawn Lowman 👏

Neumann University was proud to welcome back alum and former Men’s Basketball standout, Dr. DeShawn Lowman, on Wednesday, April 15th. Dr. Lowman returned to campus alongside 4th and 5th grade students from Forwood Elementary (Wilmington, Delaware), where he serves as Dean of Students and founded the Fox Brotherhood Club.

The Fox Brotherhood Club is a powerful mentoring and character development program focused on shaping young men into future leaders—values that align perfectly with the Neumann mission.

A true Knight legend, Dr. Lowman’s #32 jersey hangs in the rafters of the Mirenda Center, honoring his outstanding career from 2013–2017. Even more impressive is the impact he continues to make off the court, mentoring and inspiring the next generation.

Once a Knight, always a Knight!
