SoCal School Visit #2 - Pomona College

After making my way around Claremont McKenna it wasn’t hard to reach the next school on my list - Pomona College. Combined with Pitzer College, the athletic department is known as Pomona-Pitzer and it’s here where I had a connection as freshman @fosterkettering was on campus. After walking around the beautiful campus a bit I reached out to Foster who told me some of the freshman were going to be playing in the practice gym. It was so good to see and catch up with Foster and meet a couple of his teammates (one of whom was Draven Duncan, son of Tim) and I was introduced to @sagehenhoops head coach Charlie Katsiaficas. Loved connecting with Coach Kat - who everyone knows him by - and he showed me around the facilities, which were quite impressive (only caveat was the women’s volleyball team had the gym occupied for their pre-season press photos, but I was still able to get inside for a look). If you didn’t know, the Sagehens have NBA lineage: Coach Kat was an assistant under legendary Gregg Popovich when he coached Pomona-Pitzer and Mike Budenholzer, another NBA championship coach, was a player under Coach Kat in the late 80s and early 90s.

Coach Kat was a joy to be around and it was so good connecting with him for the future. Big freshman campaign for Foster ahead as well. It really was the complete campus visit for me with the connections being the best part. It was now on to the next.
