Many people don’t invite Grief through the front door.

It often finds itself gnawing on the electrical box of our heart, short circuiting the pathways (for years) until we pause to check the breaker, and let it in or set it free.

And so we’ve (@jessjess313) built this humble temple for Unison Festival, year after year tending its altar, as a place to meet the wild, feral creatures of your heart. For however brief, be it a glance, a tug, a prayer tie, a stone, a tear.

Because is there not a holy longing in each of us waiting to be met? The one who carries the fresh or undigested griefs of our life and perhaps lifetimes before?

In honor of FEELING we make bids of beauty. For awe is a pathway from the mind’s eye to the heart’s hollow. May you be allowed to sink to the ground and let your animal body do the rest.

—————————————————————————

I wish to name a particular complexity…

In my hands I hold the work of Francis Weller whose teachings are formative to my understanding and practice of grief tending. His book was on the altar this year. Days after the festival wrapped it came to light, by the courage of his victim and colleague, that he has a history of sexual misconduct. While nuanced, this news was incredibly upsetting and called forth more rage, accountability, and grief! toward the cycles of abuse men in power find themselves in. I share this to cast caution over his name and presence the harms. Proceed with care❣️

100? Wait 99 DAYS! Until the reset you didn’t know you needed.

May 14-17, 2026 marks our 24th Spring gathering ! 99 days from now and honestly? The world could use more spaces like this.

Not a spectacle.
Not a corporate production.
Just a human-scaled gathering where:

→ Strangers become chosen family
→ Movement is medicine
→ Artists are chosen for heart, not hype
→ You remember what it feels like to truly belong

We’re keeping this intentionally intimate.

We don’t oversell the experience, don’t wait and scoop your Tier 4 festival and vehicle passes before we sell out!
