Happy Thanksgiving from Orange Boy. He’s definitely thankful for a roof over his head, vet care he desperately needed, and love and food to his hearts’ desire. Thank you to his foster mom @fostertinypaws for being his advocate and taking such good care of him! www.sparklecatrescue.org . . . . #turkeyday #thankfulthursday #thanksforgiving #fosteringsaveslives #friendsgiving #orangecats #sparklecatrescue #fostertinypaws #gingercat #catlover #cutecats #straycats #catsmattertoo #imatter #imnotferal #homelesscats #whatsmystory #forgottenfelines

Stopped by to visit OB at @fostertinypaws and bring him some prescription food. He went to the vet last week. Here’s Greta’s words from her post a few days ago: “Orange Boy is back home after a long day at the Vet’s office. Today’s invoice came to $782.81. There are more expenses... Orange Boy is going to need a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks. Orange Boy is going to be eating prescription food for at least 3 months - 1 case will only last 16 days - we need approx. 2 cases/mo., that’s approx. $140/mo., $420 for 3 months. And Stephanie of Sparkle Cat Rescue has called CVS in Greensboro to put a credit card, my name, and Orange Boy on file because: “Expect the best, plan for the worst, and prepare to be surprised.” The good news: the puncture wound turned infection & hot spot on his back looks perfect! That took weeks of oral and topical meds and a collar. The rest of the news: He weighs 10.2 lbs, down from 10.6. His x-ray showed his bowels look good but gassy (X-rays sent out for radiology review). His back end is inflamed & infected. His urine looked OK but ultrasound showed a moderate amount of sludge in his bladder. Sludge is a build up of excess protien and minnerals. That sludge could potentially cause a blockage which is life threatening and requires immediate emergency treatment... hence the decision to line CVS up. I have to monitor his litterbox use. If he does not urinate within 8 hours the paperwork says to notify Town n’ Country or an emergency vet. So... that’s 1 am. Am I stressed? Yes. Yes, I am. OB’s back in the collar till his back end is cleared up. I will be giving him Metacam and Gabapentin and applying Duoxo Mousse to his back end. He is NOT a cooperative patient at home. He’s tired of being nursed. I don’t blame him. I do end each nursing session on a positive note: brushing and belly rubs.” ORANGE BOY’S PAYPAL: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=X3WDSS6X7VJA8 VENMO: In the NOTE, write “Orange Boy” https://venmo.com/u/sparklecatrescuenc #FosterTinyPaws #SparkleCatRescue #OrangeBoy #AdoptDontShop #PetsAreForLife #SpayAndNeuter #ChipYourPet
