It’s never easy to say goodbye, nor to let everything you loved dearly start to change and grow. But you can always go back down memory lane, and see things in a way you couldn’t before. - let the river run.

A snippet of a song I wrote.

A moment I won’t forget.

I’ll be playing at @sugargliderbar - in Fitzroy tomorrow night (wed 14th) at 7pm. Come pop in for a while.

Love,
M xx

Thanks @girlsnightinz for having me up in Naarm a few weeks back 🐚 Congrats on the sick show! An honour and a pleasure to play with the sickest gals and pals from VCA.

Also thank you to my sweet friends Joe, Lucy, Naomi, Bek, Folvy and Gabby for letting me crash, pat your cats and dawg, lending your bass, and coming to see me play 🙏🙇

It is time to get posting a few images from the archives. As I get older, it feels imperative that the musical history I have been privileged to photograph over the years is shared for the sake of the artists/musicians involved, These talented folk have been a part of their local music scenes and deserve as much rcognition as I can give them.
To that end, here is Aleks Folvig, a hugely talented guitar player, seen here playing with Uncle Gus & The Rimshots at Hobart Brewing Company a few years back.

🌳My first Clarence Jazz Festival🌳

1. Shakti Spirt on the barn stage.
2. Louise Denson’s ‘For Love’ featuring @stevie.mcentee1111 ripping.
3. @closecounters bringing the perfect BPM to the main stage.
4. Mercy Mercy Mercy, courtesy of No Man’s Band.
5. The Clarence Composers Collective featuring, Sasha Gavlek, Elly Hoyt, Tom Robb, Kelly Ottaway, and Erin Sherlock.
6. End of festival jam featuring the many Hobart heavies.
7. A lil MJB cameo as part of the day 3 jam.

Every time I witness the Lutruwita music scene, I am reminded that they do not mess around.

Ode to Aleks! Our own personal guitar God has made the move over the Bass Strait and we wish him all the best ✈️ Aleks has been a core member of The DK Effect from day one and we will miss him so much (and will be keen to have him as a special guest whenever he is visiting) ❤️ We have been there through almost all of his hair phases and here is a collection of photos from over the years to prove it!
