No words can truly describe the feeling of finally opening the 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada and welcoming 680 participants to the performance floor today. ❤️🤍

After months of planning, seeing our vision come to life and watching athletes from across Canada come together to celebrate movement, friendship, and community was unforgettable!

A special thank you to our delegates for joining us to share their knowledge and encouragement, and to all of our incredible performers who helped make our Opening Ceremonies such a memorable celebration.

This is just the beginning, and we cannot wait to share the rest of the week with you!

Food is one of the biggest reasons people travel. Neighborhood kitchens, destination dining. A food scene worth planning a trip around.

DYK: Nearly 80% of travellers now choose destinations based on what they’ll eat, according to @travelboommarketing! And St. Catharines is increasingly showing up on that map.

This is a city where food is not an afterthought. It IS the experience. Visitors are discovering a culinary scene shaped by bold ideas, local ingredients, and chefs who are defining what Niagara tastes like today.

From the creativity at @fatrabbit and @barlesincompetents, to the bold, boundary-pushing energy of @pharmacii_restaurant_bar and @oddbird.niagara, and the seasonal, ingredient-led storytelling at @boleteon, each experience reflects a deeper connection to place, and a reason to explore the city through food.

Come hungry. Leave planning your next visit. 😉

Let’s rewind back to last year.

RUSH wasn’t just a film festival, it was what happens when filmmakers are given space to create, connect, and be seen. We packed the film house, held big conversations, presented awards, and a hosted a wild 48-Hour Short Film Challenge; all powered by passion, courage, and community.

And none of it would’ve happened without the incredible people and places who had our backs.

Huge thanks to our Venue Partners; the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre’s FilmHouse for the incredible screening venue. Blackframe Studios for hosting our Awards Gala. And The Niagara Artists’ Centre for providing workshop space and support.

@firstontpac @filmhousepac @blackframestudiosniagara @niagaraartistscentre

Big love to our Community Partners Murray Media, Eat Your Eggs Productions Wandering Spirits , Christopher’s Café and Fourgrounds Media for the mentorship, support, and belief.

A Special thanks to our Award Sponsors; Cool Koala Rentals, The Bank Art House, Femmes du Feu Creations, Improv Niagara, and Lester D’s Reel Diner, for helping us celebrate the wins in a meaningful way.

@coolkoalarentals @thebankarthouse @femmesdufeu @improvniagara @lesterdsreeldiner

Huge shout out to our Education Partners, Welland Centennial Studios and Notre Dame College School for supporting the next generation of storytellers.

@centennialstudios @notredamecollegeschool

And of course, our Awards show hosts Jayden and Sarah, who were asked the day of, if they wanted to host, and then pulled off an incredible show … Thank you, is not enough.🙏

This SUMMER, we’re taking that energy and turning it up.

More events. Bigger moments. Louder voices.

Don’t miss RUSH 2026.

RUSH 2025 set the bar.
Incredible films. Inspiring voices. Real momentum.

Now we’re building on it. More events, more filmmakers, and more opportunities to create, connect, and celebrate.

RUSH 2026 is coming. Summer 2026.
If you were there last year, you already know.
If you weren’t—this is the year.

For Your GRAMMY® Consideration!
Kimiko’s Pearl — Music by Kevin Lau
Best Contemporary Classical Composition
Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance

In 2021, as venues remained closed during the pandemic lockdown, the idea of @kimikos_pearl was born. What began at home — recorded in isolation — grew into a three-year creative journey, culminating in the world premiere of the ballet in 2024. Blending a contemporary sound with elements of traditional Japanese music, the score bridges past and present in a powerful tribute to a true Canadian story. The first ballet based on the Japanese Canadian internment during WWII, Kimiko’s Pearl takes audiences on a journey of intergenerational healing and hope.

Experience Kevin Lau’s original score from the ballet featuring:
