Yoko Okumura is back again! And she’s fresh off the release of her latest film with Universal Studios!!! Matt and Oren dive into what it was like to direct “The Last Kiss” and the art of working with Blumhouse.

Yoko imbues her unique style into everything she does. Colorful frames, an elevated look, and a lively reimagining and response to the last Hollywood cycle of muted, near monochromatic grit popularized over the last several years.

Listen now, wherever you get your podcasts.

✨ A reminder from Yoko that we all need to hear.

It’s easy to feel like you’re falling behind when you compare your journey to everyone else’s. But take a moment to look back at how far you’ve come. The version of you from a few years ago would be proud of where you are today. ❤️

Your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Celebrate your progress, trust your timing, and keep moving forward. You’re further along than you think.

🎙️ A powerful conversation with Yoko on perspective, growth, and learning to appreciate how far you’ve come.

Maybe I’m just a whore, but the fact that not everyone was jumping at the chance to lock lips with Laurel is one of the most unbelievable plot twists I’ve ever seen in a movie. All of that other stuff I could totally see happening, though.

And that’s my review of #TheLastKiss. A massive mono outbreak would’ve been a better ending, but overall, this was a very enjoyable film. I dug it.

If you like movies about a masked psychopath stabbing young, attractive people while other young, attractive people try to identify the stabber using magic mouth powers, this is that, and you can watch it on Prime Video. Good stuff.

Septembre || several days late, but this month was a good one. Anniversaries, good movies, cute animals, my favorite baking mix is back, my favorite theater is back (@egyptianla), JOHN FUCKING CARPENTER, and my dad’s park finally got its splash pad. 🥰
