In this edition of Black people do go camping…I was able to grab a few more melanated kids to go experience the outdoors with us! We go camping every year and it’s one of my favorite trips. This was we missed our big one because he’s off being amazing in college. His shot his first game this weekend so I was less sad. Enter these children that I commandeered, I allowed the female child to put a few in the car so she wouldn’t be lonely. They played in the pool, went white water rafting, and survived a thunderstorm in our tent. One got stung, one fell out the raft, and another had to be rescued because she got too far from the boat. Basically, it was a great trip!

Track meets are proof that athletes sometimes forget they’re supposed to stay on the ground. 😅✈️

A few of my favorite moments from the Southeast Showdown meet. 🔥

2025 has been year!!!!! I had so many incredible wins. Consistent wins, each one telling me to PUSH through. I loved my friends and showed up for them more this year, I showed up for myself more and I always show up for my kids. I pulled @shophappymango from the brink of extinction and chose life. Nothing about this year was easy but it was reaffirming. I can do hard things. We do what we must until we can do what we want. I did a lot more of what I want this year, I am grateful. My year didn’t end with incredible loss on my bingo card but I got it. As Jerrell would say “Phnewfie, you will figure it out”. I always do Jerrell and I love you so much.
