POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
So, I'm finally back home and get to be cozy for a wee bit... or at least until the next but of travel in October. Meanwhile, it's time to recap some of the games I've gotten to over the last month. What better way to start that off than with the summers great big hit after a certain lil' video came out about it... Arcs.

While I had the game, I hadn't been able to get to it until GenCon thanks to the lovely @foxbocksgames for continually being a fabulous teacher. While the game is FAR easier to wrap your head around compared to the onboarding of Root, it definitely feels like it's takes some great aspects from some of their other games I've played. While I wouldn't suggest it to a new gaming gamer, I'd say you can get your head around it pretty well after a couple rounds.

But, while onboarding is a lot easier, it feels like there are some layers to unwrap when it comes to strategy. Sometimes, I can simply feel that in a game when right after you think about what you could've done differently or would've tried the next time.

So, while my first game was a 4-player game, my second game was a 2-player game, and I was keen to see how the player count would change the game. I got whooped by the 4th round after 2 turns because my opponent stole 2 items that swung all of the ambitions on their side for almost 20 points to get the win. With that, it felt really swingy, BUT I definitely think I could've played differently. It works at 2, but I think it shines at higher player count. With that, there unfortunately is not a solo mode, although not sure how a solo would work but, who knows... thought the same thing with Root and the Clockwork expansions are what initially had me love that game.

I'll probably talk more about Arcs later as I haven't cracked the campaign box yet either, but Im excited to right my wrongs the next time I get a chance!

*PS - Scroll to the end for a special guest during gameplay
