Happy National Week of Deaf People 🙌 I'm a hard-of-hearing woman with Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease (previously suspected Menieres). It causes progressive deafness and dizziness in both ears. In 2020 I began the journey of learning Auslan. I can't tell you how much peace it brought me. I love it and the community so much. This year though, I lost my arm mobility to CRPS, my job as an Auslan tutor, ability to sign, play music etc etc. I'm not giving up though. In the past six months ive relearnt how to use a knife and fork, tie shoelaces, walk the block. So many wins And one day, I'll be signing again, even if it takes a few years. Support deaf creatives this week. Our journeys are all unique but make a beautiful web. Some sign, some don't. Some use devices, others don't. 🎉 The Nightline is 4 years old today! 💚🎉 This album means so much to me, it was so much fun to make with my incredible band @stimplyren @beatdown2000 @wackermcstanger , Adam and @gormie_ and release it with my favourite indie label @mistletone 🥹 We had a lot of fun making this one and what a dream it was to collaborate with @sharonvanhalen and @thisisdeepseadiver on it, and have the opportunity to play Blue live with Sharon, truly the luckiest! Here are some behind the scenes things from the making of I don’t think I got around to sharing because I hate posting haha. What does The Nightline mean to you? Are you still listening to it?
