Here is a 1 min recap with only a portion of my digital/metaverse work in 2022! This year I have focused most of my energy on building game ready worlds and virtual architecture with @irlart__ After receiving a Teir 6 grant from @decentraland_foundation we embarked on a 6 month experience coordinating a whole team to build and innovate in the metaverse. We were able to augment multiple events by creating 1-1 reproductions of the physical locations, so anyone in the world can visit, with live-streaming, interactive games, and more. We built worlds for @ethdenver ,EFDevconnect, @faroutmurals @sonic_bloom_ These opportunities also brought us abroad to Amsterdam where we got a chance to meet our 3D builder grant recipient @cansy.land in person. We then received an opportunity to travel Austin and Lisbon, where we built and presented the new @filecoinfoundation Community Center in the metaverse. This is only a fraction of the work we’ve accomplished over the last year with 30+ events, large scale installs, too many TVs, and an unending stream of amazing artwork. I’m very grateful to the talented builders we’ve worked with, the DAOs that supported us, our amazing clients like Peregrine, all the next level artists and creators in our community, and most of all my amazing work and life partner @anniestardust that pushes me and supports me in ways I only dreamed of. Also with a chance to reflect on my progress over the past year, I’m setting intentions to dive deeper into learning new tools for 3D design, game development, virtual education, smart contracts and more. Let’s build the future! In 2011, I put a painting of a burst tar sands pipeline behind the podium at the Nebraska Governor’s Mansion. Today I was able to put a digital painting of a homeless encampment at the Lieutenant Governor’s Office at the Colorado State Capitol. When I was asked to make a piece for the theme of “Public Good” I immediately thought of a bunch of cool futuristic bio machines, but then thought maybe we just start by not robbing homeless people with sweeps, and instead provide some basic services. While housing first programs are obviously better, I wanted to start even smaller - with just caring. Denver Homeless Out Loud estimates the total cost of sweeps at $1-2 million annually depending on the year, but the only number the city disclosed last year was just for the company that does chemical cleanup: $396,756.91, and that is what the piece is called. I could go on forever about this. The show is up for 5 months (until April 30), and is open to the public, so if you’re around, stop by! A big thank you to @anniestardust @yultek_ @robtheartmuseum and the rest of the @irlart__ team for inviting me. So goddamn honored.
