“The City That Remains”

Featuring © @framinizingdiary

“A small piece of old Washington, caught in the afternoon light, surrounded by the city that came after. Long shadows stretch across the asphalt as a passerby moves through, quietly connecting two eras.”

Welcoming in autumn and October with a picture by @framinizingdiary. Beautiful shadows, and historic and modern buildings side by side.

Happy October! #igdc

A few shots from The Wharf’s Maine Avenue Fish Market, the oldest continuously operating open-air seafood market in the United States, running since 1805. Steaming hot crabs, fresh oysters, and pure hustle on the Potomac. 🐟🦪🦀 Thanks to @framinizingdiary for such an awesome picture and a reminder of our wonderful connections to our bays! #igdc

Neighborhood stores bring community and connection to D.C. After closing in 2022, Capitol Hill’s @MottsMarketDC reopened thanks to the community. Inside a 1916 store opened by immigrants, Mott’s Market original red brick really pops. We love how @framinizingdiary captures the storefront. Thanks for tagging #igdc!

“Unscripted moments in the heart of the city.”

“In the heart of Oaxaca, life unfolds at its own pace. This shot on Murguía Street is more than an architectural study; it’s a dialogue between eras. The ivory silhouette of the iconic Beetle rests under the dappled shade of the trees, while a passerby crosses the frame with an effortless elegance that mirrors the ornate ironwork above.

It is a scene where time itself seems to have paused to admire the weathered textures of stone and the vibrant contrast of terracotta red.”
