5 years ago today, CL released her debut studio album ALPHA under her own label, Very Cherry, marking a new chapter in her solo career and her first major solo project since her debut with 2NE1 in 2009.

Describing the project as a personal “rebirth,” CL embraced complete creative control over her narrative, stepping away from the expectations of the industry to define her artistry on her own terms. Tracks like “My Way” and “HWA” embody themes of independence, resilience, and self-determination

Balancing the bold ALPHA persona with Chaelin’s softer side, the album showcases CL’s versatility and vulnerability
