Matcha run🍵

Pints are all about making the everyday stuff a little more fun. Running errands, grabbing coffee, getting around the neighborhood, getting to those spots that are a little too far to walk and a little too close to drive.

“24 total Spicolis came to shred the gnar (small baby waves - but some weren’t so baby 🫣). For maybe the first time ?ever? we retook the picture - which felt wrong but we had to bend the rules a little bit because how could we not retake it after @joncarlvera came back to surf after his send off!! The crew was sharing the most beautiful memories of our sunshine girl @sydneytowle 💛, giving some much needed hugs, @sammybakesss was a little suspicious of @benramirez818 ’s surfing cow sunscreen - did it do the trick Sammy?, @maxabillionmusic traded in his wetsuit for a jersey, @nataliejaenna made an appearance after a long surf crew hiatus. I felt so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people, let’s do it again next Friday?”

Had to honor Noah Faye’s middle namesake with a sad but fun trip to the sunshine state to visit MM & PP. No surf on the riviera, but lots and lots of swimming and Noey is officially a swimmer now. Missed the crew but so stoked to see such a solid showing. 17 in the photo and not pictured were @sammybakesss @tylie.thecreator @christopherrnagel and @laurennttaylor + from what I can tell from @shantkurdian’s video, he @asap_furb and @nickmanzek were the early crew (?!). Shred on 🤙🏼🍺

WE LOVE YOU SYD ❤️

And we always will. The impact you’ve made on all of us will remain with us for the rest of our lives.

Sydney came to crew for the first time on February 17, 2023. She made friends quickly, and told me she loved what we were up to and wanted to help build our community. She organized our first White Elephant; our first mug swap; she started the @lasurfcrew TikTok (which is now a beautiful time capsule); planned birthdays for many of our friends (baking cakes for people’s birthdays), came camping and so much more. Through the course of these adventures, Sydney became a good friend to so many of us.

There’s so much more I could say about Syd but none of the words would do her justice. In all the time I knew her, I don’t think I heard her be negative once, including after she got sick.

Yesterday a huge crew showed up to pay tribute to our friend. Dozens remembered her and the same things kept being said about how truly wonderful she was, how good of a friend she was, and how much she meant to all of us.

Although this will never make sense, we are all so incredibly grateful Syd came into our lives. The hundreds of us who knew and loved her send our deepest condolences to Sydney’s family and are always here if there is anything you need.

@nick___wallace @shantkurdian @nickmanzek @brothawoods.1096 @jstnquiane @ollipophale @thefausanator and @imarioart made for THIRTY Spicolis on a fun day with east winds and a small combo swell. Might even count lifeguard Ian as 31. Epic turnout (you know it’s Spring when…). Spicoli of the week goes to @joncarlvera for making the most 💣tamales I’ve (ever!?) had. @pjohansson_ pls tag your friend! @benramirez818 please tag your friend! And @anthonydenitto please tag your friend! Love all the new faces. Welcome! I sorta did an interview this past week and the writer was saying to me just how hard it was to find quality community in LA. And I will absolutely say we have created it at Crew. Unfortunately don’t have time to give individual highlights this week but would love to know what you remember about Crew and what made you smile this week.
