Kensington Park Gardens, W11.

The kitchen. Bespoke painted cabinetry curved to follow the wall, and a pantry, all sitting beneath a restored Victorian cornice.

A room with plenty of character, and a Murano glass chandelier to match.

DESTINATION Somerset | a delightful press stay @thethreehorseshoesbatcombe

The brilliant set up from acclaimed chef @margotehenderson The Three Horseshoes is a beautifully-styled pub with five rooms atop, channelling Margot’s passion for the area through the very best seasonal produce Somerset has to offer.

The cosseting 17th century inn has been thoughtfully restored and reimagined into a luxurious pub-with-rooms, offering a bucolic escape where wholesome, produce-driven dishes steal the show.

Stay for delicious seasonal plates next to warming log fires, and enjoy the pretty courtyard overlooking the church, before bedding down in comfort in beautifully curated rooms - think chunky exposed beans, antique and vintage furniture, large sunken bathtubs and luxurious bed linen for a deeply relaxing night’s sleep, waking to birdsong and an impressive breakfast where everything - even the yogurt - is made in house 👌🏻

We enjoyed wholesome dishes with a delicate simplicity at heart - aesthetic plates of steamed mussels & curried butter, chorizo and potato soup, grilled cod with seasonal greens & crab bisque, hearty chicken & ham pie, with a side of dripping chips and completely moreish puddings - classic sticky toffee, zingy rhubarb pavlova and baked ricotta cheesecake; washed down with delicious orange wine and craft beers 👌🏻

A dreamy setting, the pub is located in the pretty village of Batcombe, surrounded by beautiful Somerset countryside – sandwiched between the 15th century Church of St Mary and acres of meadows and woodland.

It was a complete joy to sit next to a roaring inglenook fireplace, and admire the flagstone floors, beamed ceilings and vaulted dining room, restored in collaboration with interior designer @francesjopenn

Mismatched interiors lend a well-trodden vibe - 18th and 19th century chairs and tables, natural tones and fabrics, contrasted with burgundy and chestnut curtains, ochre velvet window seats and detailed bar joinery.
The perfect spot and cosiest hideout for a relaxing weekend getaway 🍴🥂
