October 18th we will be dancing on wild rice and winnowing at Franconia Sculpture Park ✨ October 18th will be a big beautiful day at Franconia because not only is there a wild rice dance party (I was thinking jokingly calling it Ricechella lol) but there are so many other activities happening! An Artist tour for a really cool new installation, regalia paper doll making, dakota plant walk, and more!!! 💗

And a huge thank you to @franconiamn for making this sold out experience possible and supporting opportunities to share Dakota knowledge and perspectives. Spending time on the river felt like traveling back in time, reconnecting with the wisdom of our ancestors and discovering how Dakota teachings continue to guide us today. They offer us a way of seeing the world, a way of building kinship with the life around us, and a way of finding peace through understanding our place within it. Our lives have been enriched by these ancestral teachings, and we're excited to share more of them with everyone at the opening of Indigenous Reverence at Franconia Sculpture Park! Join us October 18, 12-4! Through Awareness, Understanding, and Responsibility, we invite you to explore how these teachings can transform the way we see, relate to, and care for the world around us. The river reminded us that the past isn't something behind us. It continues to flow through us, carrying knowledge that is just as meaningful today as when our ancestors paddled these waters. 🌿💙
