There’s still time to register for PACDC’s 2026 Equitable Development Conference on November 9th. Read more about our plenary session below and then head to the link in our bio to snag a ticket!

PLENARY SESSION: State of the Non-Profit Sector
What's Really Happening — And What It Means for You

The non-profit sector is at a crossroads. Funding landscapes are shifting, community needs are evolving, and organizations across the region are being asked to do more with less. What does the data actually show — and how should local leaders respond?

Join Cynthia Figueroa, President & CEO of JEVS Human Services and Convenor of the Nonprofit Leaders Group, as she unveils fresh findings from the 2026 Non-Profit Needs Assessment and breaks down the trends reshaping our sector.

Then, stick around for a candid panel conversation as Cynthia sits down with three leaders on the front lines of community development:
• Bill McKinney, Executive Director, New Kensington CDC
• Kim Washington, Executive Director, Frankford CDC
• Loree Jones, Chief Executive Officer,Philabundance

Together, they'll dig into what these findings mean on the ground — for programs, for partnerships, and for the future of community development work in our region.

We recognize that our 7th Council District faces unique challenges, particularly along the Frankford business corridor.

I am thankful for the opportunity to join my colleagues @councilmemberquetcy and @cmthomasphl alongside @frankfordcdc and @phillycdcs for a tour of the corridor to see firsthand the challenges our business owners and community members face.

I look forward to continuing to support @councilmemberquetcy in her efforts to strengthen the business corridors throughout her district, while also working to get my latest piece of legislation across the finish line this fall that will work to prevent the proliferation of nuisance businesses in our communities.

“Thinking about buying a home? Don’t know where to start? I can help.

This year, I’ve helped several people buy a home with less than five thousand dollars total out of pocket.

Now, everybody’s situation is different. But you may not need as much money as you think.

There are programs that can help with your down payment and closing costs. Let’s find out what you qualify for.

Join me, the Urban League, and CrossCountry Mortgage for our first-time homebuyer seminar.

We’ll talk about your credit, what you need to save, and how to get started. And you can ask us questions.

You don’t have to be ready to buy today. Come learn so you can get ready.

It’s on Zoom, October 24th, from ten to two.

Click the link in my bio to sign up. Let’s get you started!”

As a Black community, we often talk about the problems affecting our neighborhoods. But we also have to ask ourselves: What are we doing to help rebuild, restore, and restructure our local communities into the places we remember growing up in and the current state of or future ?@phillysheriff Office OUTSIDE NOT IN 🙌🏽 @frankfordcdc
