Waited 12 years for this moment!! Officially an attending anesthesiologist! 💉🩺

The medical journey was far from a fairytale. Ofc the hard studies, missed holidays/events & basically living in the hospital for endless shifts. But these past several years brought far more.

First, living overseas for medical school to spend extra time with my godfather and biggest supporter during a sudden terminal illness.. then losing him during the hardest year of training. Watching my mama receive a cancer diagnosis and (thankfully beating it) and seeing my partner having to unexpectedly transfer out of our residency. A series of hardships on top of delirious 24-hour shifts that sometimes felt like waiting to wake up from a bad dream. These experiences have shaped me into a different person. I found beauty in all the resilience learned. Finding a positive perspective in every situation to keep afloat became daily routine.

My patients became centered as a constant and purpose to keep going. Being surrounded by a lot of unexpected news— serves as a reminder that every new day is a blessing. Being in a job where I can execute positivity and consolation during a frightened time has become such a light for me.

Above all I am grateful to have built the greatest bond with my soulmate after tackling this journey together🫶🏼 So grateful to be continuing our anesthesia training together in the Midwest & continuing to endure all of life’s different chapters together.

Blessed for my support system, especially my amazing partner and parents, the experiences, coresidents, mentors/professors and lessons that shaped me along the way. Thankful for the rigorous clinical training my program provided, which made me a strong, independent anesthesiologist. Bc there’s no better feeling than showing up to work every day, living out my dream with the best freakin job in the world—one that brings endless fulfillment and passion. In the end, the journey was worth the sacrifices. My love for helping the cutest, most vulnerable patients in this field couldn’t help me resist oneeee more quick stop of specialization!! Next stop: fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology!!!😙👶🏼🌸🤭💉🫧🧸🍼🐣

Your downright hilarious personality (that’s too smart for ur own good) and endless kisses and hugs have made for the most uplifting year😍 From waking up to ur cuddles and high fives to you copying our every move (like trying to weigh urself on the scale, trying to wave and husky speak to ppl & walk other dogs lmfao) to the best travel buddy, running and adventure buddy, protective Pom angel, empathic snuggler and listener with ur attentive head tilts😂 We love you so much happy bday king Oreo!! ❤️🐶
