Kiosk

For our final gig of 2025, Leeds based electronic duo Kiosk throbbed and knocked in to say hello and play some tunes.
Balancing gritty, analogue dance beats and synths and warm, blown out bass tones, Kiosk fall into that lovely, dreamy space of New Wave/ Electro. A large and complex sound for just two people and one that is both sweet and sexy, clubby and wild.
Come back anytime Kiosk, check them out on socials for more.

Pretty Cool

Last up for 2025, Pretty Cool. Charismatic, tender indie-pop with a growl, a sense of humour and well put together. An accomplished set of musicians making it look easy and providing the perfect backdrop for Z, front and centre to command the stage. She sings with brooding intensity offset by charming one liners, sweet melodies and pulls together for a pretty cool band.
That’s all for 2025, see you next year.

The Scuttlers

Last up at our adventure to Kamera Ballroom, were The Scuttlers. Hailing from Bristol, and surprised to find their name the same as the 19th century youth gangs of Manchester, they were a weird pleasure. The mixture of danceable jagged riffs and pushed and pulled out drum fills setting the comfortable backdrop to the surreal stage performance of their singer. Something like Andy Kauffman with a nervous heart of gold, gleam in his eye and the stage dive like Jack Black in School of Rock, the scuttles were serious, poised and surprising. It was interesting, uncomfortable and amazing, cheers to them for making the trip.

TAMAN

For our first session outside the studio, we ventured to document the new venue above Lloyd and Platt in Chorlton, Kamera Ballroom.
Opening up for us we had superstar TAMAN, amidst a night of vinyl, badges, performance art and guitar rock it felt good to kick things off with pop music and some poppers. TAMAN is a rising star in both the Liverpool and London queer scenes, puts on her own events and fundraisers and is an all round legend. Enjoy x

Common Ideal

Straight off the back of their Postbox single release party the day before in London, Common Ideal came to the South Manchester suburb’s newest venue, Kamera Ballroom, to cut their teeth in the North. High voltage guitar pop, tight, snappy and jumpy. Common Ideal brought the energy and were a blast.

FFFINOS

Almost 10 years after their first steps through the old
Dead Basic Studios doors, FFFINOS return!
We welcomed them back with open arms and tuned in once again to their trademark down-tempo grooves and comfy lofi tones. FFFINOS closed up the night at Document 6 with a soft spot for the familiar and the big nod to the scene we’ve been building all these years, it was a pleasure as always

Preost
@preost__

We hosted “He whom’s bagpipe huffs between the lines of your favourite novelist’s favourite swag rapper” to the studio back in September. It was weird, it was loud and people got into it and danced like freaks. An upbeat and unexpected journey into genres we can only attempt to name. Welcome Preost beats, bags n vocals with a pinch of his usual collaborators.

BUFFEE

In her debut FNW gig, Leeds based BUFFEE brought her signature idiosyncratic, blown out club pop to DBS. A ton of exciting stuff to watch and listen to from a solo artist, sounding big and bad and brilliant, heavy distortion and dancing. Wonderful stuff from BUFFEE and we can’t wait to have her back.
