Set up a 450T Leibherr Slew Crane with our 25T Franna, we positioned its pads for the outriggers to get in position and attached the fly to the boom.

10 TONNES. TWO FRANNAS. ONE SMOOTH LIFT. 🏗️💪

Yesterday marked another big step in the 10-year overhaul of this Grove RT770E, with the counterweight refitted and the overhauled boom going back where it belongs.

With the boom weighing in at around 10 tonnes, we brought together two Franna AT15s for the dual lift, with Bulldog Cranes and Moreton Bay Cranes jumping onboard to assist the Mobile Crane Specialists crew.

Our own Tobias Stone coordinated the lift under his Intermediate Rigging ticket — and as you’ll see in the timelapse, it was smooth, controlled and seamless from start to finish. Exactly how a lift like this should look.

A great team effort all round. The RT770E is now ready for the next stage of reassembly and completion of its 10-year overhaul.

Who doesn’t love a fresh set of business cards? 👌

The new Mobile Crane Specialists cards have landed — and they’re looking pretty sharp.

We’re getting out and about across SEQ, meeting operators, workshops and businesses and introducing the new MCS.

So if we’re working in your area, keep an eye out 👀

If you’re not on site when we drop past, don’t be surprised if you find one of these sitting on the lunchroom table, workshop bench… or tucked under your windscreen wiper. 😂

No hard sell. Just making sure you know who to call when you need crane technical support, inspections, repairs or maintenance.

FULL HOUSE AT MOBILE CRANE SPECIALISTS 🔧🏗️

Plenty happening in the workshop this week, with multiple cranes at different stages of repair, diagnosis and 10-year major inspections.

✅ Tadano GR-160 — works completed and heading out the door.

🔧 Franna 4WD 12 — in for a leaking tele cylinder, full brake overhaul, along with diagnosis and repairs to lighting and emergency steer electrical faults.

⚙️ Franna AT-15 — diagnosed with a failed C2 clutch pack in the Allison 2500 Series transmission. We’ve already organised a replacement transmission and TCM, taking the machine from Gen 4 to Gen 5.

While it’s apart, we’re pulling the cooling package to have the oil cooler cleaned and tested. We also identified a cracked intercooler, so our mates at Western Suburbs Radiator Services will give the complete cooling package a clean and inspection and advise on repair or replacement.

🏗️ Cross Cranes AT-15 — next up is the start of its 10-year major overhaul.

🔩 Grove RT770E — we’re expecting the luff cylinder back this week, with the plan to have the boom back on by Friday and push ahead with the remaining work on its 10-year major overhaul.

It’s a full workshop — exactly how we like it.

From diagnostics and driveline repairs through to hydraulics, electrical, cooling systems and complete 10-year major inspections, Mobile Crane Specialists is keeping the work moving.

🏗️ A morning on the Franna production line.

We were called into Terex Franna to take care of an oil pan leak identified during pre-delivery on this new machine.

With the crane nearing the end of production, getting the repair completed efficiently meant the team could keep things moving without unnecessary delays.

It’s great to be trusted by the OEM to step in, get the job sorted and have another Franna ready for its next stage.
