Back to the digital world after getting my phone pickpocketed at the beginning of a trip in Chile and being disconnected for about a month (and sadly losing so much Christmas content I had prepared!). But it was a much needed break. Anyway, today's the day to look back on the year... sometimes it feels like making it work in the hospitality industry is extremely tough, so just wanted to remember all the career things I did achieve. From leaving the RC, getting an agent for my book, getting published in @vittlesmagazine (!!!). Hosting a wonderful supper club with @dairyfreececi , hosting various events, fundraisers and pop ups, including a live baking and drawing session with beautiful @cote_delpiano . Baking 2 wedding cakes, my own and @abilukacs & @movesbymiguel . Publishing a couple other pieces, engaging in multiple brand collaborations, getting shortlisted by the @oxfculturalcollective . And in between all this, finding the time to get married to @salutpmano (twice!), tracing my ancestors in Andalucía, foodie adventures with friends in Brittany & Singapore. And ending the year back home with my beautiful family as well as our chosen London family who flew to Chile to celebrate @javieralorenzini & @rodrigo_sanfuentes beautiful wedding. Quite a few new followers lately so I thought I'd introduce myself 😅 I am Josefina or, Jo as most people call me in the UK. I moved here 9 years ago to study literature, but along the way I fell in love with bread and food more generally. I have gone from being a home baker, to working in a sourdough bakery, hosting supper clubs and baking workshops, all the way to working in a Michelin starred restaurant. But at the end of the day what I enjoy the most is to cook with and for my family and friends, as well as supper clubs that recreate this feeling. I am particularly passionate about highlighting Chilean produce and traditional flavours… I am currently writing a cookbook about Chileanish pastry that hopefully will see the light soon! I love developing recipes, and exploring cuisines - my partner is Singaporean so we travel regularly to that part of the world and we cook lots of Indian food. I believe in the power of a shared table and that food builds communities. That through the food we make we can create the kind of world we want to inhabit – diverse, considered and one that connects us more to our roots, land and communities.
