Especially during these difficult times, it is so important that we continue creating safe spaces where we can uplift one another, come together in community, and freely express our joy, our art, and our truth. 🌎💜

Our existence is something to celebrate, our love is something to celebrate, and our differences are what make this world so beautiful! 🌈

Super excited for this incredible lineup of artists and to share space with all of you! 🎶🎨

Introducing #JenTheRN 🩺👩🏾‍⚕️🩺…
✨The Community Nurse ✨

As I celebrate my 3rd year NCLEX PASSING 💯😆🙏🏾 Anniversary this week, I am proud to announce the next phase of my career as a Community Nurse. I was raised to give back and pour into the people and communities in which made me. Now, I just get paid to do it. Through roles such as volunteering, mission work, serving my community, teaching, and now community nursing I am using the gifts God bestowed on me to truly serve others.

Sometimes, we don’t stop to realize that we have reached our goals as we always strive to do better than the last day. Well, today I want to acknowledge that I had a goal list and reached every single one. I also reach for higher heights as that’s the way I was raised, but today I am proud of myself for attaining the things I used to get down on my knees and pray for.

My Mother said, “You and your siblings can all independently take care of yourselves and that’s more than I could ever ask for. You all have made it in my eyes!”
For an immigrant single mother to have all of her kids reach Master’s degree level in America is a testament to the character of Lucia Otti.

Being that she’s the driving human force behind everything I do. That was my golden ticket!
People see a person who may look like they have it all together, but may not know the struggles or pain that comes with it. I have dedicated my entire life to education, as I knew from a young age it is the way. So, to reap the benefits of something I have always worked for and still constantly work to maintain is amazing.

Being a nurse is in no way shape or form easy. Not nursing school and definitely not the professional world. But, I am proud to be a nurse and proud of everything the career has offered my family from generation to generation.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Ejiofor, MSN RN

Our @partyingwithpurpose It Takes a Village: Free Community Love Concert with @njclimateweek was a success! 🌎🌻💜

It was such a blessing to pour love into our community, speak truth about the conditions of our world, and talk about the care and action it will take to change course for our people and our planet.

Though we are living through dark times, change starts with each and every one of us. This night reminded us that none of us does this work alone. It truly takes a village. 🫶🏽

A HUGE thank you to @outtherenj for sharing his time and talent to capture these beautiful photos 📸, and to our UUC family for opening their sanctuary to our community.

Thank you @abstractartbykymray for sharing her incredible gifts through live art 🎨; Jose and @neearthcoalition for creating community gardens and helping our communities care for the Earth 🌱; and Trina of @hopefortheflowersrevolution for sharing her art, wisdom, truth, and passion. 🦋

Thank you @mia.grizzuti and @jaidanbeckerrr for sharing your gifts and speaking truth through art, and @archangeantoine & @ekussman for the work you continue to do in our communities and with @thepeoplesvigil. 💜

And thank you to every organization, volunteer, artist, speaker, and community member who showed up and poured into this night.

This began as a dream @GabiTheArtist wanted to bring to life, but it became something beautiful because of our village.

In the spirit of Ubuntu: “I am because we are.”

And this is only the beginning. 🌻

May we continue creating spaces for community, love, hope, and action. May we continue to care for our planet and care for our people.

One love. 🫶🏽💜🌎 Get Registered To Vote by October 13th 🗣️ Your Voice Matters

We're living in this plastic world where even those who claim to be advocates for the people and dedicated to God and so on, do so in such performative and conditional ways while expanding energies on image that doesn't elevate the people.

It's disheartening to say the least. I mean many folks who say they are about the business of humanity rarely have the necessary kind of heart for it or commitment to acting in accordance with the necessary principles.

The people have every right to feel and be cynical given what they're up against, but that doesn't excuse insincerity. Not now of all nows.

I think most of us would agree that it takes a village, but the village has been infiltrated. The village has been damaged.

That said, we often take people like @gabitheartist with a grain of salt, understandably.

Thing is, Gabi is someone i have watched from her youth to now always being a joyful person who loves the act of making music and speaking her truth in that form.

As the years went by her awareness of the world grew and so did her attention to it and her desire to be a force for good as a musician but also as a member of a beautiful community right here in Montclair.

I spent the evening with her at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Montclair hosting an event filled with community love and energy.

Her mother and I had a huddle during the event to express how proud of her we both are. It was a joyful moment.

I have more from the event, but I felt compelled to share this song Gabi performed tonight. I hope it gives you some idea why we think Gabi is so special.
