Spector

Live at Tileyard North, Wakefield // 30.08.26

Some gigs are made by the music. Others are made by the moments you couldn't plan.

Taking to the stage after Little Grandad and Ellur, Spector brought their unmistakable indie sound to Tileyard North as the weather took a turn for the worse.

What began as a set under grey skies soon became a rain-soaked spectacle. Even as the downpour grew heavier, neither the band nor the crowd showed any signs of backing down. Instead, the rain became part of the performance, adding atmosphere, intensity and a cinematic edge to the scene.

From drenched crowds to dramatic lighting, the conditions created something genuinely special behind the lens — proof that sometimes the most compelling images come from embracing the unexpected.

@ajputman is the founder of @untitledrecs, a London record label & management company whose artist-led philosophy has helped shape acts like Jerskin Fendrix, spirit blue, New York, Lauren Auder and the revival of DJ Spanish Fly. He talked to us about moving from Paris to London almost by accident, why naivety is an asset, and the record that changed how he thinks about running a label.

No more gatekeeping…

For 20+ years I’ve been paid to tell stories. But with time the one thing that’s stayed with me is that the truth of what goes on behind the scenes is so much weirder and absurd than even the wildest fiction.

This is the story of what really goes down…
the ugly, humiliating truth, in all its unredacted glory.

Honestly I’ve been writing these stories down for so long, I can’t wait to share them. If three people turn up, then that’s ok. If I get to do it once then I’ll be happy. But hopefully we can give you an entertaining ride.

Venue, format tbc. Might just pop up and do it impromptu. Watch this space.
