📚🥃🍔 BOOKS, BOOOS, BURGERS & A WHOLE LOTTA LOVE! 💗

Smash Fam, today is about more than just good books, good drinks, and great burgers at Fredonia Brewery! We have an even more amazing reason to come out and show some love. 💕

Our friend Mishi is fighting breast cancer, and we want to help her kick cancer’s ASS! 💪

That’s why 10% of today’s sales from Smash and Pass Burgers will go directly toward helping Mishi in her fight. ❤️

So come hungry, bring your book-loving friends, grab a drink, and let’s turn some smashed burgers into a little extra support for someone who needs it.

Every burger makes a difference, and today we get to do what we love while helping someone we care about. 🫶

Let’s show Mishi just how strong this community can be!

📚 Books. 👻Boos 🥃 Booze. 🍔 Burgers. 💗 A whole lotta love.

Let’s help Mishi kick cancer’s ass!

Y’all know I love bourbon, but when my buddy Matt from the Houston Basement Dwellers invited me on a private brewery tour, I wasn’t turning that down!

We stopped at Fredonia Brewery in Nacogdoches, Texas—checked out the brewing setup, worked through a flight, and hung out with this crew.

Somehow, I ended up with a growler and a shirt, too. Funny how that happens.

Appreciate the invite, Matt! Whiskey should be fun—but beer can get a turn.

Find your favorite 12x12 piece and take it home!

Have you found a piece of artwork that speaks to you? At FVA’s 2026 12x12 Art Auction, you have the opportunity to make it your own while supporting the future of arts education!

Here’s how it works:

Find your favorite piece: Visit the 12x12 exhibition and explore the incredible original works created by talented local artists.

Place your bid: Once you’ve found a piece you love, submit your bid and keep an eye on the competition. Join us for the closing reception on November 7th, when bidding will close at 7:30pm—Be sure to get your bids in before the deadline. The highest bid wins the piece!

Pay for and pick up your artwork: If you have the winning bid, you’ll need to pay for your piece and collect it that evening before taking it home. (‼️NOTE‼️ This year, we had to implement a credit card fee that will be charged upon payment when making the final purchase on your piece. We deeply appreciate your understanding with this new addition!)

The best part? Your participation in this event helps fund future scholarships for students attending SFA’s School of Art. When you take home a piece of original artwork, you’re also helping support the next generation of artists.

Find the piece that speaks to you, place your bid, and become part of a community that keeps the arts thriving.

The 12x12 Closing Reception is November 7th from 6-8pm. We’ll see you there!

Celebrating our 2026 FVA Scholarship Recipients!

Behind every emerging artist is a story. A story of dedication, creativity, and the support that helps them keep creating. This year, Friends of Visual Arts was proud to award scholarships to outstanding students attending SFASU’s School of Art, and we recently gathered to celebrate their achievements at a special reception!

We’re so grateful to be part of these artists’ journeys, and we’re excited to share more about each recipient and their incredible work with you. We would also like to give a special thank you to SFA student Miguel Chavez for capturing these moments and helping us celebrate this year’s scholarship recipients!

But supporting these artists doesn’t stop here. Our annual 12x12 Art Auction helps make future scholarships possible, with proceeds going directly toward supporting SFA School of Art students. When you attend 12x12 and take home a piece of original artwork, you’re doing more than supporting a local artist. You’re helping the next generation of creatives continue their education and pursue their passions.

Join us at this year’s 12x12 event and become part of a community that nurtures creativity and supports arts education!

What draws you to a piece of art? Tell us in the comments, and stay tuned as we introduce this year’s scholarship recipients!
