Before the lights. Before the crowds. Before Friday nights.

Episode 1 of our football documentary series is here. We spent the day with the Perkins Pirates at their 7-on-7, capturing the preparation, the energy, and the work that happens long before kickoff.

This is where the season begins.

perkins track and field:

there’s no words to even begin to describe how i feel. there’s been so many ups and downs the past 5 years. from throwing my 8th grade year as a joke to being a competitor the past 3 years at regionals. unfortunately it didn’t quite work out the way i wanted to but i’m so grateful for every opportunity, early morning practice, hard workouts, and even rough teammate moments. i wouldn’t want it any other way. i ended my career with 2 SBC championships, 1 district record, 1 district championship, school record for 3-man disc relay, school record for 2-man disc relay and tied for 6th on the all time list. i’ve given my all to this sport. thank you to coach kay, coach otto, and coach blakely for giving their all into my athletic career. thank you to my teammates currently and the ones in the past for making these past years unforgettable. thank you especially to my parents, brothers, grandma and grandpa baum and aunt janice for writing down every mark from every meet. i’ll cherish every memory forever. #a&e #onceapiratealwaysapirate🏴‍☠️
