WINNERS RESPOND DIFFERENT You can tell a lot about a player by how they react when someone else gets recognized. When someone else gets praised, a losing mindset rolls their eyes, changes their body language, gets jealous, makes excuses, or shows, why them? Winners react differently. In winning programs, when your teammate gets recognized, you get PUMPED for them. You celebrate them, and then you look in the mirror and say Good stuff. Now I’ve gotta raise my level, Raise my intensity, Raise my effort, Raise my focus, Raise my consistency! Someone else being recognized doesn’t take anything away from you. It should motivate you. That’s how winning cultures are built. Players push players. Teammates celebrate teammates. And when one person raises the standard, everybody in the gym has to rise with it. 🔥 WORKHOUSE WARRIOR SPOTLIGHT 🔥 Another star from the North has arrived. 🇨🇦 Shalan Beckford Class of 2028, Canada’s next rising star, #1 Ranked Point Guard in the State of Florida, and one of the top rising point guards in the country recently came through the Workhouse to train with our staff. Our trainers have worked with and helped develop NBA players, and every workout is built around the same professional standards, attention to detail, and intensity. Now starring at The Potter’s House Prep in Florida while playing on the 3SSB circuit with Austin Rivers SE Elite, Shalan has been an absolute terror this summer. Session after session, he’s proving he belongs among the nation’s elite, and as a result, Division I offers continue to roll in while college interest keeps growing. At 5’11” with a 6’4” wingspan, Shalan plays much bigger than his size. He’s explosive getting downhill, finishes through contact against bigger defenders, and competes on every possession. Defensively, he has the length, athleticism, and toughness to guard the 1, 2, and even some 3s. His mid-range game is already a weapon, and as his three-point shot continues to improve, his ceiling keeps getting higher. One thing we loved seeing was Shalan embracing the competition at the Workhouse. He went head-to-head with some of our own rising talent, including Ryan Azzun, a 6’3” Class of 2028 guard with Rivals who continues to emerge as a legitimate Division I prospect, and Yaseen Fathalla, one of New Hampshire’s top up-and-coming freshmen and another Rivals standout who has already shown he can compete with anyone throughout New England. Iron sharpens iron, and that’s exactly what the Workhouse is all about bringing together elite players from across North America to push one another every single day. What separates Shalan is his coachability, competitive spirit, and commitment to getting better.
