Competing in my first freediving comp in 8 years this week!
Solid performance in the CNF (No Fins) category, reaching a depth of 57 meters (2:57 diving time) at the Cortez Cup. ‍Another official attempt (deeper this time) is coming up this weekend at the same event. Stay tuned!

Ecuador did not disappoint. Big wahoo was pretty wild hundreds of mating, humpback whales.. when you make a drop when you get about 10 feet underwater you could hear multiple whales singing to each other got a little bit too close for comfort several times in the boat very exciting. But we weren’t there to watch whales. We were there to shoot fish Mission accomplished. Also shot my first legal snook all brought to you by Dave Patlan. Thanks Dave. Just say yes when your friend asked you to go Spearfishing with him and another country. The whole Pirates thing was pretty crazy too. Capt leniborobon is a world class spearfishing guide . He’s competed all over South America, Central America, and Europe. He knew how to put us on the fish wahoo, offshore, or snook in shore.

What a fun week it has been training on Fins Up. Conditions have been amazing, Lots of new personal bests were achieved, and we got to welcome a few new members to our local freediving community!

Our philosophy here at LFD has always been more than just hitting goals and numbers—it’s about having fun while honing your skills. Consistent practice not only keeps you sharp but also deepens your connection to the ocean.

Being part of a community is key and here at LFD we believe in the power of shared experiences, supporting each other, and celebrating every achievement together. Whether you’re chasing new depths or just want to enjoy the water with like-minded individuals, our community has it all!
