Over the last few training sessions, I tested CNF (no fins) with different neck weights: 0.5 kg, 0.7 kg, and no weight at all.

The results? My descent speed was pretty much the same, and so was the number of cycles. But on the way up, wearing the neck weight took longer and required more cycles.

So, after all that testing, my conclusion is simple:

F*ck the neck weight. 😂🤣

Day 3 of the competition: CWT (Monofin): 110 m, a new PB!

Dive time - 2:42
Descent - 1:30, speed 1.22 m/s
Ascent - 1:12, speed 1.52 m/s

That was an incredible dive. It felt easier than the previous 108m, I was much fresher and it was physically much easier. EQ worked perfectly, and I had enough air to go really, really deep.

But I’m tired now. Diving for three days in a row and setting a new personal best every single day is intense.

Time to rest… but not for too long.
The next discipline is CNF (breaststroke).

Competition Day: 100m FIM. Personal Best!

Dive time: 2:49
Down: 1:25
Up: 1:24

I was basically a rocket today😁

This one was interesting…

After my 97m dive at the previous competition, it was difficult to decide what depth to choose today, because those 97m were far from perfect. But after talking to my friend @aquamattyman , he gave me an extra boost of confidence, and I decided to go for 100m.

Matt, a huge thank you for all your advice and support! 🙏

According to the forecast, today should have been perfect, no current and no strong wind. But that's the weather… you never really know what you're going to get.

When we arrived at the platform, I saw that all the lines were moving, the current was strong, and the wind was pretty intense. My mood immediately dropped, and honestly, I didn't really want to dive anymore.

But my coach told me: "Get yourself together and do what we came here to do."

I tried to reset, but it wasn't easy, especially after seeing every dive before mine end with a red card.

And then came my little ray of light, my emotional boost and the turning point of the day: @sheenaneedscoffee dove the same depth, in the same discipline, and nailed it!

Everyone was celebrating, and so was I. Suddenly, that confidence came back: "I can do this too."

I got on the line and started preparing… but my head was full of thoughts. Not about the dive, but about negative experiences, fears, and different scenarios. I even started shaking a little.

But the moment I started the dive, everything disappeared.

I simply started doing what I know how to do and what I love.

At some point, I started losing focus and feeling like I was falling asleep. That's not usually a good sign for me, so I started looking into the distance.

And it was absolutely beautiful, deep, dark-blue, crystal-clear water.

I even thought: "Wow, that's beautiful…", hoping it was appreciation of the view and not the hypoxia talking. 😂

And then there they were 100 meters.

Turn. And back up.

90m FIM - dive time 2:49

Descent speed: 1.08 m/s
Ascent speed: 1.04 m/s

I’ve started using a 1 kg neck weight from @double_k_freediving , and the dive felt much more comfortable compared to diving without it.

My overall speed increased, while on the ascent the weight is barely noticeable.

Looks like this was the right decision.
