This hump back whale jumped completely out of the water about 10 feet from our boat, and then continued to breech like this about 6 times in a row!

My favorite part of fishing in the open ocean is that you literally never know what you could see out there

It’s humbling to see these massive creatures up this close, bless the whales

We done did it again, this year marking the completion of over half a decade living a full-spectrum experience here at Rainbow Creek Ranch.

So ya know, this place is named as such for several reasons: We hope to restore the land in support of returning rainbow trout to our watershed; you can find any color of stone you like in the creek, with all the chert and serpentine; and we each bring our own flavor to this space, in aspiring to be far from a monotone zone.

At this year’s end, we’re feeling such gratitude for all of the people and puppies and pleasantries that come with communal living here at the ridge, and we hold so much excitement for all that’s still yet to come. Thanks for taking the ride with us.
