Po trzech męczących miesiącach uwięzienia Ehsan Ali – przewodniczący Komitetu Działania Awami w Gilgit-Baltistanie (AAC-GB) oraz czołowy działacz Rewolucyjnej Partii Komunistycznej (RCP) – jest znów wolnym człowiekiem! To ogromne zwycięstwo międzynarodowej solidarności, które nie byłoby możliwe bez ogromnego wsparcia ze strony robotników, przywódców związkowych i radykalnej młodzieży na całym świecie. Od czasu aresztowania 10 marca pod zmyślonymi zarzutami terroryzmu za „przestępstwo” uczestnictwa w kolacji iftar i dyskusji na temat pokojowych protestów Ehsan Ali był wystawiony na okropne warunki panujące w więzieniu. Podobnie jak podczas poprzedniego aresztowania w 2025 roku władze naciskały na niego, aby przyznał się do wszelakich skandalicznych kłamstw, jednocześnie zastraszając jego krewnych i towarzyszy, aby go potępili. Odmówiono mu odpowiedniej opieki medycznej, a wysoki rangą funkcjonariusz policji w Gilgit-Baltistanie przyznał, że otrzymał rozkazy „z góry”, by „dać mu umrzeć”. Jednak na przekór swoim oprawcom Ehsan Ali przetrwał tę mękę z odwagą i hartem ducha, odmawiając poddania się. Dzisiaj opuszcza więzienie żywy i zdrowy, gotowy do kontynuowania swojej wieloletniej walki w obronie ubogich i wyzyskiwanych mieszkańców regionu. Jego uwolnienie nastąpiło kilka dni po wyborczej farsie w Gilgit-Baltistanie. Czas jego uwięzienia prawdopodobnie nie był przypadkowy. Władze chciały utrzymać głównego przywódcę AAC z dala od ulic na czas tego tak zwanego demokratycznego procesu, w następstwie którego w parlamencie Gilgitu zasiądzie jeszcze więcej uległych lokajów Islamabadu. Comrades of the Ottawa section gathered on June 4th to do their part for the international day of action to free members of the AAC. Our task was simple: raise our voices in anger at the injustice of the Pakistani state's arrest of the Awami Action Comitee. The objective of this task and its importance, however, cannot be overstated. The lives and freedom of our revolutionary comrades hang in the balance. They have been a powerful force in rallying the people of Gilgit-Baltistan against the state's aim of exploiting the region. As is to be expected, the state has come after our comrades to protect its interests, using false charges of terrorism to hide their shameful reasons. A pitiful attempt at legitimacy. The Pakistani state is torturing these courageous people to break their revolutionary spirit. They wish to let Ehsan Ali, a key figure in the movement, die in custody by withholding medical treatment. Our objective is to use our strength as an international to levy pressure against the state. We will do this by protesting at the Pakistani High Commission and demanding statements from our political representatives. We encourage you to join us! On Saturday, the RCP in Cambridge were out selling papers and talking to people at Strawberry Fair about the need for revolution. We handed out lots of flyers about our comrade, Ehsan Ali, who has been arrested and is being held without trial by the Pakistani state. We’ve been told that orders from the top have been to let him die in prison - but an injury to one is an injury to all and we stand with our comrades. We are part of the Revolutionary Communist International and we are mobilising globally to free Ehsan Ali. Władze Pakistanu zdelegalizowały Komitety Akcji Awami [Ludowej] (AAC) w Gilgit-Baltistanie i Azad Kaszmirze, działające na rzecz samostanowienia ludności i sprawiedliwości społecznej. Ta podjęta pod dyktando rządu pakistańskiego, będącego z kolei marionetką sępów światowej finansjery, spotkała się z masowym oporem. AAC, cieszące się ogromnym zaufaniem i poparciem społecznym, stało się de facto alternatywną siłą wobec skorumpowanych, skompromitowanych instytucji państwowych i partii establishmentu. W odpowiedzi na represje, obejmujące zamachy, a ostatnio także masakrę przeszło dwustu protestujących, aresztowania i blokady mediów, ludność odpowiedziała strajkami, protestami i blokadami dróg. Sytuacja przeradza się w otwartą konfrontację: z jednej strony demokratyczne struktury AAC, z drugiej – brutalny aparat państwowy, który nie cofnie się przed niczym, by utrzymać się u władzy – od otwartej przemocy po wściekłą nagonkę we wszystkich burżuazyjnych mediach, którą można porównać chyba tylko z tą urządzoną na bolszewików w lipcu 1917 roku. AAC walczą o fundamentalne prawa pakistańskiego ludu pracującego, przeciwko korupcji i przywilejom elit – zarówno w Kaszmirze kontrolowanym przez Pakistan, jak i całym kraju. Pierwsze z nich zostały założone przez towarzyszy z pakistańskiej sekcji RCI, międzynarodówki Czerwonego Frontu. Do tej pory pełnią oni w nich kluczową rolę. Brutalność państwa jak dotąd nie zdusiła ruchu. Przeciwnie – już pojawiają się doniesienia o rozrastaniu się go na cały Pakistan, z perspektywą rewolucyjnego obalenia kapitalizmu w kraju zamieszkiwanym przez 240 milionów ludzi! W Azad Kaszmirze mamy bowiem de facto dwuwładzę, pomiędzy AAC z ich masowym poparciem a skorumpowanymi marionetkami kapitału w Muzaffarabadzie i Islamabadzie, trzymającymi się władzy tylko przez machlojki i brutalność. This weekend comrades of the RCP in Newcastle came out to build for our up coming week of action in support of the Awami action committee and our comrade Ehsan Ali who is currently in custody and subject to abuse and torture and our open meeting on how to fight the epstine class, the perpetrators of some of the most horrendous crimes of many of our lifetimes! -the ACC (awami action committee) is a revolutionary movement in Pakistan that was fought for the rights and freedoms of peasants and workers alike and for their access to food, healthcare and education.
