Biggest class in Sonic Resonance history 🙂‍↕️

@projectjulls is an Afro-Dominirican (Dominican + Puerto Rican IYKYK) DJ and sonic curator drawn to cinematic, bass-heavy sets that blur genre and expectation, her palette stretching from merengue and reggaeton roots into techno, electro, EBM, tribal, DNB, trance, and deconstructed club. Since entering Chicago’s underground in 2021, she’s become her own force on and off the dancefloor, moving crowds at @emptybottle, @podlasieclub, and @smokeandmirrorschicago while working behind the scenes with collectives like @hiddenideas__, @mictlan_productions, Transient, and BITT3N. Returning for her second cohort, she’s back for a moment of catharsis in nature, new workshops, and time to cultivate relationships with the next wave of artists pouring out of Chicago.

@elio.baseman.art is a multimedia artist and DJ based in Chicago, working across ceramics, soft sculpture, costuming, and event curation, with whimsy, play, and queerness threading through all of it. A tap dancer turned selector, they build sets around percussion, camp, and freakiness, treating play as a way to imagine alternative futures and having spent the last few years running @clowntown.playground, a DIY queer party collective and venue. Still early in their DJ journey and coming into their own voice, they’re at Sonic Resonance for the workshops, the culture of the dancefloor, and the dream of DJing outside in nature.

@xo.benson is a researcher and art historian. Their work runs on doubt as a way to test the thresholds of what’s been called fact, threading their study of math, the Soviet avant-garde, and the body through every set, so the dancefloor becomes less a wall of sound to disassociate to and more a place for unease, deepened curiosity, and expansive trust. At Sonic Resonance, they want to sharpen their restraint across long-format mixing, play with drum machines and modular synths, and trade ideas with other minds who hold the practice of selecting as dearly as they do.

@kiya.marieee is a techno-based, drum-forward DJ that grounds their queer and Black identity in the transformative rhythms of the dance floor. In a world that so often filters histo
