Free Key Choir, LA + Oakland 2024. @Freekeychoir is a secular / nonreligious performing choir group based out of Oakland featuring a revolving door of local bay area indie musicians and artists. They spend a couple seasons a year performing a repertoire of their featured musicians original songs with a growing ensemble each and every turn. the forest canopy
a meadow in the sky
upon the underside

they sway
wicker baskets carrying water and algae
swinging fragments of image

an impressionist blur
of blue and green
subtly kissed by the sun

sweet soft noise
carries my mind
to a place of serenity

i can imagine myself
on the other side of gravity
resting amongst the leaves
a bed of caresses
and it is there i remember the earth holds us

~~~
forever grateful that opportunities continue to make their way to me - I seem to live in a liminal space of dearth and wealth, somehow at both ends, and yet neither. i suppose it is none of my business what that means, but rather to continue to navigate it. i am lucky to have friends along the way, regardless.
thank you for holding me, however heavy that weight.
