It’s more than a thing to say. It’s an entire belief system backed by neuroscience. Don’t wear the shirt if you’re not willing to understand the system.

Here are some of the things I do to hone in on my athletes use of their legs in their BHS, you can read if you’d like👇

1. BHS TO BELLY - [only when there’s a safe place for them to land] The most common thing you’ll see is athletes “worming” in the ground. personally that’s a give away that there are some shapes not being hit
2. HANDSTAND - simple right? No. I learn this from Roman posting a video of an athlete doing her handstand this way. Your arms to your shoulders will be supported. The rest of your body? Whew. Get ready for a serious workout. Now apply it to a free standing handstand and your tumbling skills. That “squeeze” helps tremendously in the second phase of your BHS
3. JUMPING TO PANEL - how many times do we tell our athletes to “jump” in their backhand springs? ALOT. For me I take the pressure away and shift the focus of simply jumping. That’s it. No need to complicate it. Having them land on their tippy toes tells me that they are jumping all the way 🙂‍↕️
4. BRIDGE TO PLANK - another of using B O T H legs at the same to achieve said backhand springs
5. BRIDGE - brother it’s a bridge. Please teach your athletes this basic before they even think about a BHS
