HEAVY IS THE HAZE. 💀🔥

Some beers are worth the wait. Others are worth making an entire day out of.

This one is both.

We've been putting something special together, and on October 24th @cbc_cypress , we're bringing it all to life.

Introducing HEAVY IS THE HAZE — a 9% Hopzy Double IPA built around an absolutely incredible lineup of hops:

🌿 Nectaron Cryo
🌿 Freestyle Nectaron
🌿 Eggers pESH
🌿 Mosaic

All exceptional hops. One massive expression of everything we love about hazy IPAs. Expect layers of vibrant tropical fruit, juicy stone fruit, and saturated hop character wrapped in that signature soft, pillowy Shelton Brewing haze.

But this release is about more than just the beer.

We're going all in with exclusive HEAVY IS THE HAZE merchandise, including custom glassware, shirts, and a few surprises we're keeping under wraps for now. 👀

The artwork tells the story. The beer brings it to life.

📅 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH @cbc_cypress

Opens at noon!

Clear your calendar. Save the date. This isn't going to be your ordinary beer drop.

More details coming soon.

HEAVY IS THE HAZE. AND IT'S ABOUT TO GET HEAVIER. 💀🍻

Next up on the birthday brew release schedule: it's the return of The O.C.!

Last year, we were one of the first breweries in the world to use Tropical Fusion, a new field hop blend from @freestylehops which includes Riwaka, Southern Cross and Motueka varietals grown together in a single block. Inspired by California sunshine and those easy breezy surf vibes, we chucked it in a juicy tropical Oat Cream Hazy and called it The O.C. ☀️🌴🌊

We loved last year's batch so much and couldn't wait to get our hands on the 2026 harvest of Tropical Fusion for a rebrew. (Re)Introducing you to our lusciously smooth Hazy IPA, brewed once again with a heavy dose of oats in the grain bill for a characteristic thick and silky texture. Pouring as golden as the Orange County sunshine, with a soft pillowy head that's whiter than California's sandy beaches, aromas of sweet exotic citrus meet intense and complex tropical flavours in the mouth, with a sweet and lingering honeydew finish. And this time around we've mixed things up a bit, swapping out the traditional New England yeast for a Kveik strain that amplifies the juicy, fruit-forward characteristics of the Tropical Fusion blend

Come grab a glass of sunshine from 4pm next Thursday, 22nd October, at our 15th Birthday Bash 🥳

Californiaaa...here we comeee!

The newest crop of New Zealand hops arrived at the brewery recently, ushering in the return of Of First & Last Things and the debut of Self-Reliance: Manilita.

New Zealand hops have been part of Hill Farmstead’s brewing journey since our first year, when we released single-hop pale ales with Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka. Securing a consistent supply took considerably longer. In 2016, a visit to New Zealand introduced Shaun to Dave Dunbar and Freestyle Hops in Upper Moutere, thus forging a fruitful relationship that continues today.

Over the past decade, visits to the fields, hop selection, and conversations about how each lot performs in our beers have informed this collaboration. Freestyle also participates in the Hāpi breeding program, through which we have helped evaluate experimental varieties, including Manilita.

Of First & Last Things brings together Motueka and Nelson Sauvin with American-grown Simcoe®. Self-Reliance: Manilita offers a first expression of this experimental variety within our Self-Reliance Farmstead® IPA series.
