When I was first recovering from breast cancer, and honestly still today, the last thing I wanted to see was a pink ribbon; especially performative ones. So, the only pink ribbons I own are my mother’s pin I got for her and one a dear friend gave me at the time. I also bought the beautiful @freidarothman “STRENGTH” bracelet and necklace for myself because that’s really what I want to focus on. 🎀

The strength my husband, family, friends and faith gave me when I had none and now the strength it takes to decide everyday that even though it still remains the unwanted gift that keeps on giving due to the many treatment side effects, to keep things in perspective and not take anything for granted. 💝

Cancer survivors are forever changed in so many ways from their experience and grieving that process is just as important to recovery as dealing with the physical scars. Each October that rolls around is a painful reminder of the hell I went through. I’d like to be pollyanna and say it gets easier, but just like any grief it stays with you and you learn to cope with it and try to focus on making it through instead. 💖

Last week, Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia hosted a Ruby Lion Luncheon with jeweler, entrepreneur and third-generation Holocaust Survivor Freida Rothman.

Rothman shared how the strength of Holocaust Survivors shapes her life and her craft. Through her powerful story, she reminded us to be proud of who we are as Jews, wear our Jewish jewelry with pride, and be a light in the world. Like her contemporary jewelry pieces, the conversation was a celebration of courage, resilience and hope.

A special thank you to our program co-chairs, Debra Magerman and Beth Reisboard, and to our moderator, Sheree Bloch, for helping create such a meaningful afternoon. And thank you to our Ruby Lions, who continue to show up, give and lead with purpose.

During the month of October, 10% of jewelry sales at Freida Rothman Jewelry will support the Jewish Federation. Visit http://freidarothman.com and write “Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia” in the notes when making a purchase online.

Ruby Lions of Judah are a group of women who make a generous household contribution of $10,000 to the Jewish Federation's Annual Campaign. Learn more: https://jewishphilly.org/ways-to-give/lion-of-judah/loje/.

🔥 The outfit is giving confidence…
but the mindset is giving GROWTH 🔥💯

Here’s something I’ve learned…

You do NOT become the next version of yourself by continuing to do everything the same way… 🛑 read that again!

You have to be willing to learn more… to think differently… to challenge yourself… and oftennnn you have to be willing to get a little uncomfortable

🖤🖤 💸 💸 Today I’m heading to a convention with other financial professionals who understand that growth doesn’t stop just because you’ve found your career!!

Because the moment you think you’ve learned enough… you’ve already started limiting yourself

As a former teacher… I LOVE learning these things for my clients!!! I want THEM to always reap the benefits 💯

Here’s the lesson for today…
You can’t become HER with yesterday’s habits 👊🏼🩷

Rooted in Joy 🌱

Last night @jewishpalmbeach ’s Women’s Philanthropy brought the women of the Canyons together for an evening of community, connection, and JOY. Each woman planted two succulents, one to keep and one to give to someone special, celebrating the roots that connect us to Israel, our Jewish community, and one another.

Thank you to our co-chairs @tck126 & @stacyhammertime , to Kohl JVC chair @addiezubs for sharing her story, and to Federation’s Community Engagement team for bringing it all together.

Continue to Spread Joy!

Join us to celebrate the strength of women at Let’s Do Brunch with @freidarothman
