Remember the Paul Simon night the smoke stole from us? It’s back. Feelin’ Groovy: Michael Mahler Sings Paul Simon has a new date — Wednesday, August 12 — and a new home at the Jaycees WiFi Park.

Same show we didn’t get to have, clearer skies (fingers crossed), and one of the great American songbooks played the way it deserves. Mark your calendars. We’re not letting this one get away twice.

That’s a wrap on the very first Park After Dark.

Two nights, blankets on the grass, and a whole lot of familiar songs heard in a way we won’t soon forget. Thank you to everyone who packed a picnic, brought the kids, and helped Central Park glow.

To our performers, our sponsors, and this town — thank you. We hope to see you next summer.

🎵🎶 What’s Park After Dark, you ask? 🤔
It’s a new event, with a simple idea: take songs you’ve known for years and let artists find something in them you’ve never quite heard. That’s the whole night.

Three evenings of reinvention in Central Park, where the space itself becomes part of the show — picture a skyline built from cardboard and light. Familiar and surprising, easy and a little magic, the kind of summer evening Downtown Naperville has gotten so good at.

Free for everyone, made possible by the City of Naperville Special Events Community Arts Fund (SECA), John Greene Realtor, DJK Custom Homes, Gerald Subaru of Naperville, Busey Bank, The Rubin Family, Marquette Properties, Naperville Bank & Trust, and Pinot’s Palette.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 17–19. Evenings. Free. Family-friendly. Bring a blanket and stay for all of it.

Park After Dark - This Weekend! Three nights, three reinventions, one very good idea: take the familiar and find something in it you’ve never heard. Family-friendly activities start nightly at 6:30pm. Headliners at 7:30pm each night.

Fri 7/17 · Feelin’ Groovy: Michael Mahler Sings Paul Simon — “Mrs. Robinson,” “Cecilia,” “You Can Call Me Al,” a folk-rock fantasia presented by Artists Lounge Live.

Sat 7/18 · The Lovettes: “It’s My Party” — the female icons of the ‘50s and ‘60s, harmonies and heartbreak and all.

Sun 7/19 · Better Together — five players running on soul, groove, and go-where-it-goes improvisation in the spirit of Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles.

All free, in Central Park, and made possible by a generous group of local partners: City of Naperville SECA fund, John Greene Realtor, DJK Custom Homes, Gerald Subaru of Naperville, Busey Bank, The Rubin Family, Marquette Properties, Naperville Bank & Trust, and Pinot’s Palette.

Swipe through, pick your night (or come to all three), and find your spot on the lawn. Grab dinner downtown before.
