One beautiful fall day, on the small and intimate beach at a friend’s property in Colchester Beach, Vermont, my fiancé and I held our wedding day. It was the most magical location overlooking Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains with the most perfect fall weather on a private beach, with forty of our closest family and friends in attendance. About five minutes into my wedding ceremony, my soon to be sister-in-law stood up to read a poem I had chosen. She was emotional, and trying to gather herself for a few long moments. She was crying and couldn't seem to control the overwhelming feelings she was having. Just a few rows back, one of our friends started whispering, "She's gonna pass out. She's gonna pass out." Molly seemed to gather herself enough to make a joke, and said, "You knew I would!" Meaning, her brother knew she'd get emotional. We all laughed as she reached over to grab her brother’s arm as a gesture of love and then collapsed and died. This story is about one day that changed my life. One day that gradually unraveled a lifetime of living for others, and living a small, purposeless life, into one of fulfillment. One day that was so catastrophic there were only two paths: one of continuing the self destruction, which would have led to a total collapse of a life that was already hanging on by a thread, or the one I chose….one of purpose, expansion, and total healing of my entire inner and outer self. Comment COACHING and I’ll send you the details for working with me one to one, where we can identify the biggest blocks holding you back within our first meeting, and work on shifting your mindset to turn tragedies into triumph.

There was a time when I thought this experience would define the rest of my life. For a long time, I carried the weight of what happened in silence. I replayed it, questioned it, and allowed it to shape how I saw myself. But here’s what I’ve learned: Healing doesn’t happen because time passes. Healing happens when you decide to do the work. That work isn’t easy. It’s uncomfortable. It’s messy. It asks you to face the very things you’d rather avoid. But on the other side is something I never thought was possible: peace, freedom, and a version of yourself that isn’t controlled by your past. I’m sharing this story not because I want sympathy, but because I know someone reading this may feel stuck in their own pain. If that’s you, I want you to know this: What happened to you matters. Your pain is real. But it doesn’t have to write the rest of your story. I’d love to know: What’s one thing that’s helped you heal or grow through a difficult season? Comment COACHING and I’ll send you the details on shifting your mindset, and the patterns keeping you stuck so we can begin working towards your new chapter.
