Our buckwheat croissant has its own style, a little different from the classic. With 500 people tasting and taking part in the public vote, we’re grateful to receive the People’s Choice Best Croissant award in Best Croissant Competition in Toronto.
To be recognized by the people who tried it means so much to our team. We’ll keep developing our products with respect for tradition and curiosity for new flavours and experiences. Thank you for your support.

A weekend very well spent eating my way through Toronto’s Best Croissant + Best Baguette competition. 🥐

And obviously, I came away with some thoughts.

🏆 People’s Choice: @chokwoklat
👩‍⚖️ Judges’ Winner / Best Croissant: @tangssant_viennoiserie_
🥖 Best Baguette: @gouterbyra

For me, @nadegetoronto had the buttery flavour I loved most, while HV Bakery was probably the most consistent when it came to structure. It was honestly a very close one.

I also LOVED the little minis @frenchmadetoronto was doing with their summer butter from @stbrigidscreamery . They did a winter and summer butter, and the minis were such a fun way to taste the difference.

@duo.patisserie almond croissant also deserves a shoutout because that almond paste filling 👀

And the best-looking table + best overall selection for me was @tatinbakehouse from Oakville. I loved the pandan and black currant cheesecake options.

I will say, I was surprised not to see @brodflour , @emmertoronto or @bartholomewbakery in the lineup. Those would have made this competition even more interesting.

Basically, there was a LOT of butter consumed this weekend and I regret nothing.

Today’s assignment: eat an irresponsible number of croissants. 🥐

Spent the afternoon at the Best Croissant in San Francisco competition tasting pastries from some of the city’s most talented bakers and casting my vote for the People’s Choice Award.

The level of craftsmanship was honestly impressive—from shatteringly crisp exteriors to beautifully open crumb structures.#

Congrats to @parachute.bakery to win the best classic croissant and best original creation also to @bonjourbakehouse

Huge thank you to @lemaraisbakery for the invitation and hospitality and congrats for the win for People’s choice award❤️

Now I need to know: where’s your favorite croissant in SF?
