My new website is live! 🥳 www.juliegilby.com
I've been working on this for a while as the website I had a few years ago was just not up to modern standards 😆 but I still wanted to have a place to showcase my skills and the acting/voiceover services I can offer, with a design that is more personal and reflective of me than the industry standard platforms out there. I plan to keep evolving it, but am really happy to share this with you now 🥰

10 years ago this month, I graduated with a BA in Creative Photographic Practice. But I didn’t really know what that meant or what was I supposed to do next?🎓

I applied to various jobs, like ‘photographers assistant’ and ‘photo lab operator’, none of which really excited me.😕

So I decided, if I want to be a photographer, then be a photographer! And I set up my own business!🤩

Back then it was called ‘Lisa Gilby Photography and Film’ (shout out to those of you who have stuck with me since then!) which later changed to @freshestframes in 2018.📸

In hindsight, diving straight into self-employment as soon as I graduated may have been a bit wild, I mean it’s been a rollercoaster, and still is to be honest. There’s a lot of downsides to being self-employed but I LOVE working for myself and having control over the type of photography I do and the clients I work with.❤️

I love working with performers and creatives who have a passion for what they do, just as I have a passion for what I do! I absolutely love seeing you grow in your creative careers, and knowing that I had a part in it is really empowering! ✨

I’m actually really proud of setting up my own business(es). I’m proud of all the things I’ve achieved over the past 10 years and I’m proud of sticking with it through some really tough times (like right now If I'm honest!) 🙃

Not everyone gets why I do it, or how truly passionate I am about it. But when I work with creatives, performers and entrepreneurs, I know you guys get it!😍

On a serious note though, If you need some new images, do hit me up, cos times are tough and I could do with some paid work. 😅

Swipe through to see a few behind-the-scenes snaps of me from the last 10 years. Apparently I’m on the floor or behind plants a lot! 😂
