Hanoi, Vietnam

My last stop along this amazing journey.
Writing about it now, back at home I'm not sure how to talk about it. I loved it, I dont know if thats because of its significance in my journey, I think if it was a midpoint it may have not been crazy enjoyable but Hanoi was beautiful. Even in the parts where depravity runs rampant - the same "grab" driver drove past me 5 times offering me weed and cocaine, some other guys offer prostitutes. I've grown a thick skin, or an irreverent mind. Either works for me. As Hanoi was my last stop I decided it was high time to do some shopping; I had initially intended to just buy a different good quality big hiking bag, spoiler alert, I didn't. Instead I bought new birks, a nice bum bag, and.. a tattoo!
I went to see both the north and south train streets, I didnt even know there were two so that was a nice surprise. I went to go see the table where Obama and Anthony Bourdain shared a meal, both absolute legends, even though it was just a table I'm so glad I went. Me and my friends went to watch Odyssey, good lord Vietnamese cinema is way too loud but what an experience and what a film!! I expected the others/locals to be making more noise, like cheering but alas they didn't, so me and my friend made sure to be the emotional point of reference for the crowd 😂
I leave Hanoi at 5am wearing a new shirt that says rise with the sun on the back of a grab bike. Good morning Vietnam ❤️

Cat Ba, Vietnam

Yahh Cat Baa, what a pleasure it was to be here. It started off arriving at 5:30 with a man known only as the valium gifter - we proceeded to spend the day together and had a great time - it turned out he was a bit of a gift of presence. Hanging out for the whole day we spoke about a lot of things that helped me shift some perspectives and plans. They have been things that had been sitting at the door of my conscious for a while, so thank you my friend!
I flitted between 3 hostels on this island. The first for my arrival, the second for peace, quiet, and aloneness, and the third for party and reconnection! I remet some friends here @freyarijss @caro.hick which was an absolute pleasure! We had like.. 3 consecutive nights out, lasting until 5 am 😅 roughh mornings especially because I was forcing myself to wake up for free breakfasts 🫩 #worthit
