between Benin and Bahia
through the lens of the Axis Syllabus

>> 02/17 january 2027, in Serra Grande

Scarabeo Produçoes
in collaboration with
Axis Syllabus International Mashwork
Associaçao Sonagnon (Benin)
Barracao d’Angola (BR)
Hosted from Espaço Scarabeo (BR)

“Each one sees a whole,
everyone sees something unique.
between Bahia and Benin,
horizons in dialogue,
an invisible bridge
over a sea of truths.” Sara Parisi

An intensive study encounter on dance, music, cultural and spiritual philosophy of Benin, and the multiple dialogues with the tradition of Bahia.

Over 16 days, we will bring together dance, music, body research, philosophy, speeches about cultural and spiritual knowledge of Benin, exploring its many dialogues with the Afro-Brazilian traditions of Bahia.

The Axis Syllabus will be one of the main tools of this gathering: an approach to movement research that integrates anatomy, biomechanics, physics, perception, and bodily experience, offering tools to observe, question, and expand our awareness of the body in movement.

Witness a meeting and be part of the experience!

April 10th-18th 2026
AXIS SYLLABUS Teacher Lab (50 hours). One week dedicated to the study and the transmission of the knowledge-maps and resources collected in the Axis Syllabus.

Teachers: Frey Faust, Francesca Pedullà, Bariş Mihçi,
Guest teachers: Manuela Martella, Robert McNeer

Registrations are open: https://forms.gle/FXAsREiZoYa7ev1R8

Info: laradicedeiviandanti@gmail.com

The Teachers LAB includes three main working methods:

- Practical and theoretical input offered by each teacher on the staff
- Individual/collective processing and application: opportunities to facilitate sessions
- Feedback and discussion periods.

The Axis Sylabus Teachrs LAB is part of the annual Teacher’s Program - we are all teeaching all the time 2026, a professional, experience-sharing support platform for present and future educators, dance and theatre teachers, facilitators and instructors of diverse movement practices, choreographers, holistic practitioners and therapists, Axis Syllabus candidate teachers, movement teachers in other contexts, and project leaders.

The philosophical and ethical orientation of the Teacher’s Program is to provide an overview of tools, tactics, methods for teaching and transmitting.

We imagine the Teacher’s Program - we are all teaching all the time as an incubator for deeper social skills to assist those who are dedicated to the art of effectively guiding other people towards the realisation of their projects or goals.

!! Important note: The Teacher’s Program does not exclusively address those who intend to become an Axis Syllabus teacher. However, as present and future AS candidates and teachers, it offers a protected and immersive context to train teaching skills.

The project is curated by Francesca Pedullà, Frey Faust, Manuela Martella, and realised by La Radice dei Viandanti in collaboration with La Luna nel Pozzo and Le Grenier du Corps.
