Today is a special day in fashion. At The Met Gala 2026 @metmuseum @metcostumeinstitute "Costume Art" celebration, I share with you the moments of the presentation on January 30th at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston @mfahouston , where The Two Fridas walked the Fashion Fusion X runway. Inspired by the iconic Frida Kahlo @fridakahlo and the exhibition 'Frida: The Making of an Icon,' every detail was a visual tribute.

This project was made possible thanks to an extraordinary collaboration with my friend & designer Flor Garcia @florkim_2000 , with whom I executed every design and detail with passion and respect for Frida’s legacy. The centerpiece was a stunning cape revealing the two Fridas, proclaiming: “Viva Frida Kahlo” on the front and “Viva la Vida” on the back.

I thank the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, HCC @hccfashionschool , and my professors for fostering a passion for art and fashion. As a Mexican designer, I reaffirm my identity, my pride, and Frida’s magic today.

On this night of glamour, fashion becomes a living art. Thank you to photographer Josh Horne @joshhornephotography for collaborating with me, to this unforgettable experience in Houston. Thanks to Gerardo Chinchilla @johnnyhairdesign for creating my beautiful hairstyle to pay tribute to Frida Kahlo; it was a very magical moment in my career as a fashion designer.
My makeup by the talented friend Kyla Moreno .
With love,
Alvin Alan.

#SundayThoughts: Chasing #Happiness... 💃🏼

👉Happiness comes from #balance—mixing everyday #joy with a bit of #adventure. It’s about finding #magic in the small stuff, like sunlight hitting your coffee mug, a song that lifts your mood, or a funny text from someone you #love.

👉#Life isn’t just about big #moments; it’s the little wonders—a cozy blanket, a walk in the park, or a random act of kindness—that make ordinary days sparkle. Stay #grateful for what’s right in front of you, but don’t forget to shake things up now and then with adventures, like trying something new or #exploring a place you’ve never been.

👉The trick? Notice the tiny joys, stay present, and add a dash of #fun when you can. That’s how you turn #everyday life into something pretty magical.

What makes YOU happy? 😃 Leave a comment below 👇👇👇

An #exhibition you shouldn't miss... 👄

FRIDA IMMERSIVE
📍@hangarczyzyny | @krakow_pl 🇵🇱
Until 22nd June 2025

"Frida Kahlo’s art and style are inseparable. Her self-portraits captured raw emotion, while her fashion—think colorful Tehuana dresses, intricate braids, and statement accessories—celebrated her Mexican roots and #individuality. Frida turned her pain into #beauty, using both her art and wardrobe to express her identity and resilience. A true icon, she continues to inspire artists and fashionistas worldwide." - Eva Fydrych, Founder & Art Director of @fashionstudiomagazine
