Caz from Fridays for Future "wouldn't trust David Seymour an inch"
... would you?
If not, then, why ought NZ give him so much unbridled power via the Regulatory Standards Board?
If we want to avoid that, we'd better make submissions to the select committee before the deadline of 1pm on Monday 23rd June 2025, stating clearly that we are not bots, and we're against this FOURTH attempt at passing such a clearly anti-democratic bill into law.

We knew the fast-track was going to enable some bad projects, but this coal mine takes the cake. The government's dodgy fast-track act could enable the project to ride roughshod over environmental and democratic processes.

But it's not too late to stop the mine. There are still a bunch of hoops Bathurst has to jump through before the mine can be built - from their fast-track application to finding financiers and insurers to back their mine. If we fight them at every step with a bold, people-powered campaign, we can derail their polluting plans and permanently shut the door on their fossil-fool proposal.

We have all woken up to images of the horrific aftermath of the seige and massacre at Al-Shifa hospital this morning. The extent of devastation by the Israeli occupation in Palestine seems endless and never ending.

Come join us on Friday as we wave flags and banners on Hill Street to the scores of public servants driving into work. Make banners with your message to them- to this insipid government that does not speak for us!

See you there at 7:15 am!

The climate movement needs more hands on deck. Rather than a few people trying to do everything, we need millions of people doing something.

We’ve pulled together a quick, non-exhaustive list of climate orgs around the motu. Choose an area that interests you, find a community, and get involved!

Unfortunately we can only tag 20 orgs per post, but most of these orgs should be easy to find with a quick search. Also, you can get the clickable version of this with links at bit.ly/climate-orgs-nz or the link in our bio. Check out our latest newsletter too for even more resources and directories of ways to start getting involved in climate action!

Go to their contact page, introduce yourself, and try it out. Note that many of these orgs are volunteer driven, and might not have all the resources and training you might expect. Doing it with a friend helps a lot! This is the challenge and opportunity of grassroots movements though, and it can be rewarding and fulfilling.

“I am only one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
And I will not let what I cannot do
interfere with what I can do.”

― Edward Everett Hale

Disclaimer: While Climate Club NZ has collaborated with many of these groups, we don’t necessarily endorse the views of every organisation listed here, or keep up with everything they say.
