Ef þið rekist á þrítugann manninn í dag, þá mælum við með að splæsa á hann dúndur pintu🍺 Happy Friðrik Day! Our beloved bass player turns 30 today, 30! That man ages like fine wine. Brewed on the coast of Breiðarfjörður in the late 90’s, and raised in Stykkishólmur, Iceland. Well spoken and intelligent and not to mention a great drinking buddy! This is a big one, he definetly deserves a megapint today to celebrate. If you see him around, give him a big hug and a cold pint!🍺

UNM Copenhagen 2026 is starting tomorrow! We have arrived in Copenhagen and are so exited for the week ahead. Here is a introduction of the composers representing Iceland this year: Kristján Steinn Kristjánsson Kristján Steinn Kristjánsson is an Icelandic artist working across sound, composition, sculpture, and installation. His practice centres on transforming instruments into hybrid objects and reimagining everyday household items as playable instruments. Through acts of modification and attentive listening, familiar objects reveal unexpected sonic possibilities, inviting audiences to reconsider the ordinary as a site of poetry, playfulness, and uncertainty. Kristján was the Icelandic participant at the UNM 2026 residency last May with the ensemble NEKO3. The result from that residency will be premiered on 13.08 at 19:00, Teaterøen. Iceland’s participation in the UNM 2026 festival is supported by Tónlistarsjóður, STEF and Fondet for Dansk-Islandsk Samarbejde. UNM Copenhagen 2026 is starting tomorrow! The members are recorder player and composer Paul J.W. Schauenburg and performer/composer Þórður Hallgrímsson. Their instruments usually consist of parts of various wind instruments combined with simple pipes and other materials. spɪtl̥iŋk has been working together since 2024. Þórður is a composer and performer from Reykjavík. He recently finished a master’s degree in composition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Maya Verlaak and Meriç Artaç. His work focuses on experimental notation and instrument-building as compositional practice, often merging instrument and composition into a single entity. His piece Human Organ, was premiered at Het Orgelpark in Amsterdam and has been scheduled for performance at Hamraborg Festival in August 2026. The piece explores the art of notation and scoring along with instrument building. Can an instrument also be a score and can a score be an instrument? Paul is a re
