THEN ➡️ NOW Slides 1-20. Today is a very special day for me. So Here’s my story

My name is Zack Gillis. I go by “GILLIS” on stage. I’m a currently 32 years old originally from Boston Massachusetts currently residing in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Growing up I have always had a passion for music especially in high school and college. When I discovered EDM like most teenagers you find that one artist you look up to and aspire to be like. For me, mine was Avicii. I was so fortunate to be able to see him in 2014 in Boston before he passed away and from then on my passion for the EDM culture just grew as I got older.

I moved to Fort Lauderdale in June of 2021 and my second week here I went to a club called @clubspace Miami. I remember that day, like most do there first time, like it was yesterday. That day was the day I fell in LOVE with specifically the House Music scene.

I said over a course of a couple years or so, “ I’d love to get up there and play music. I know I’d be good I need to learn”. I had friends over time say things like, CMON when are you getting up there, when are you learning. You need to do it. But I never applied myself.

@nicolezeck was throwing in 2024 a festival theme bday party. She called me and said “hey. You wanna learn, LEARN. You’re playing a sunset set at my house for my bday 1 hour. You have 2 months figure it out and get going”

**hangs the phone up**

So, I went out. Bought myself a FLX6, a laptop, and a speaker and said I guess this is it. Let’s learn.

I had multiple friends help me. Show me the basics and sat home and practiced before that day. I made a set and CRUSHED it for a first timer.

From that party I ended up landing my FIRST set at a club, which is the picture on the left @m2_miami 2 Years ago on this day

It was the most exhilarating experience of my life and from there I’ve grown as a person, a friend, and an artist. I have a lot of work to do but there is much more to come.

I thank all my friends and family and loved ones who have stood behind and support me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My dreams really have come true and this is only the beginning ❤️
